I think the latest 240Hz panels were 0.5ms gtg, correct me if I am wrong.
Completely wrong.

On the box or in official specs, sure, it could say so. Feels like manufacturers can just write whatever bullshit they want. Even the fastest e-sports monitor on the market (that I know of) has 1.7 ms average GTG response time (Zowie XL2546K, AMA High, TN panel).

I've tested Acer Predator XB273X, on the box it said "up to 0.1 ms" response time, which is of course just a marketing gimmick.

Sometimes manufacturers just provide the best case scenario response time figure, achieved in unusable conditions (measured on the highest overdrive with extreme overshoot, also with unknown methodology).

With insane amounts of overshoot.

Does overshoot ONLY effect color production or does it have an effect in any type of latency?

Waiting for a review on the Acer Predator XB32U Gx 270Hz
I do not believe that it affects the lag of the monitor, but it can be very ugly.

It would be nice to have some of these 360Hz monitors in 27".
