- VRB on = overdrive normal/normal/extreme?
No medium? Did you mean normal/extreme, 2 levels?
Did acer put those VRB levels under VRB or Overdrive in osd?
I hope its under vrb because as you said earlier vrb on extreme decreases brightness so it is actually a pulse width setting.
Thank you for your answers

So it's...
FreeSync ON = overdrive LOCKED
FreeSync OFF = overdrive OFF/NORMAL/EXTREME
VRB OFF/NORMAL/EXTREME = overdrive OFF/NORMAL/EXTREME
or
VRB OFF/NORMAL/EXTREME = overdrive LOCKED ?

yes, the first part is correct. overdrive only locks when freesync is on.

That is rather unexpected combination of available settings. That's why it was so confusing. Usually manufacturers give some overdrive levels with adaptive sync, rarely give pwm option and overdrive with strobing enabled. So its quite the opposite.

I just read about this on other Acer monitors. Here is an answer from Acer about it in their forums:
"
Overdrive is enabled by default when your Acer monitor is connected via DisplayPort with FreeSync enabled. This means you will not be able to change Overdrive settings within the monitors On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
Note: Overdrive can be enabled or disabled if the monitor is connected via HDMI, since FreeSync is not supported via HDMI."
*OD is activated by default at its optimal value, generally in normal mode.
I guess for compatible Gsync it will be the same.
Tomorrow I should receive mine but I think my Xiaomi Lite 8 can't take long exposure photos.
Does this quote refer to XV252QF specifically? Freesync should be supported on HDMI with amd gpus, so im not sure if acer is correct on that one. HDMI limits max refresh rate to 240Hz I believe.
Did it arrive?
Im sure you're be able to do some ufo shots even with limited camera settings.

I'm still blown away at the pricing. I don't use any sync features, g-sync gsync compatible, free sync, just fixed refresh rate and highest possible. I only recently picked up the Omen X 25f it seems and now I have the PG259QNR. I might pick this up if my local MC begins to carry it. Sucks cause I'm still contemplating the Predator XB323U Gxbmiiphzx for my daily rig, lol
damn the xv252QF is not that expensive its like 500. I got rid of the pg259qn because of the brightness level. maximum NITS so low for no reason. And I play with it in the dark at night @ like 30 35cm away

I honestly would not worry about Overdrive extreme not working with VRR on this panel. Or any Acer panel. Knowing them, eXTREME od usually always has slightly worse artifacts always and more errors vs normal. And the response time a lot of the time usually isn't all that much better than od normal in terms of an actual change in response time.
@BTRY the Predator panels are always amazing but I would be shocked if they are the ones to make a 460hz panel before Acer Nitro when the time comes. I suspect that may be next since we acer just figured out 390hz. You already know they'll all keep going up and up in hz until we finally get to 1000hz... Chief, we will have a big BlurBusters party pizza and cake when that day comes. I'll design a 1000hz cake. LoL
