Does anyone know if the strobing utility software works with the XL2540k. If so I'm just assuming it dims it down to around 200 nits due to no voltage increase of the backlights? Could be a nice budget xl2546k though if it works though!
Thanks

Yes it works! I had the same question and a friend of mine actually got this monitor. The screen isn't even darker. It's straight up dyac.

DyAc is indeed one of the brighter voltage-boosted strobe backlights on the market -- it dims much less than many brands.

Thats great ! I want to try out Dyac and this might be the best/most cost effective way to do it !

Also surprised by that I read somewhere else (another forum) that it does affect brightness

Are you confirming BFI on the xl2540 is still 350 nits (approx) like the 2546k ?Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 16:06DyAc is indeed one of the brighter voltage-boosted strobe backlights on the market -- it dims much less than many brands.

XL2540 is not marketed with "DyAc" or "DyAc+".Silliker wrote: ↑30 Nov 2021, 14:27Are you confirming BFI on the xl2540 is still 350 nits (approx) like the 2546k ?Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 16:06DyAc is indeed one of the brighter voltage-boosted strobe backlights on the market -- it dims much less than many brands.

It does have MBR (Motion Blur Reduction) but it is not voltage boosted like the branded version (DyAc).
BenQ only markets DyAc on XL2546 series (XL2546, XL2456K).
If you want the brighter voltage-boosted strobe backlight in a BenQ monitor, look for the "DyAc" branded marketing lingo.
TLDR: Both XL2540 and XL2546 has strobe backlights. But only the 240Hz models with with last digit in "6" suffix have the brighter voltage-boosted LEDs for brighter strobing, and gains the marketing lingo of "DyAc" (Dynamic Acceleration). Pony up the $$$ for the extra strobed nits if you want. Up to you.

Awww yes , thanks for the clarification. As I suspected, perhaps too good to be true !Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑30 Nov 2021, 15:34XL2540 is not marketed with "DyAc" or "DyAc+".Silliker wrote: ↑30 Nov 2021, 14:27Are you confirming BFI on the xl2540 is still 350 nits (approx) like the 2546k ?Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 16:06DyAc is indeed one of the brighter voltage-boosted strobe backlights on the market -- it dims much less than many brands.
