Hello, everybody. I dont really know how to begin with my explanation of the problem, its really weird and I have it for years, but now I finally decided to create an account and make a post bout it, I really hope you are going to help me out to solve it. First let me mention that I have changed many pcs, laptops, monitors, mouses and keyboards, tried different ISPs and Windows versions, went to friends and played on their machines, also brought mines there. I have read n tried every single possible fix on the internet, but unfortunately nothing helps. I play mainly shooters - CS:GO, 1.6 and also DOTA. So my problem is the weird visual and input lag when moving the mouse, whenever I play CS and for example press Mouse1 to shoot there is like 0.5 sec delay between my click and the shot being actually displayed on my monitor. When I move my mouse it feels like there is acceleration but there actually isn't any. It feels like my character is 200kg and it has difficulties to move and shoot or in DOTA to cast spells and move around. It's the same even on my desktop, my mouse feels heavy even there. The only thing that makes my games little smoother, but not even close to perfection, is playing a youtube video (1080p or more). Sometimes my games run perfect and when that happens I simply destroy every enemy player, usually Im used to being called cheater because im better than most of the players in my country. Usually then my mouse feels so light and easy to control even on my desktop, but thats rare anyway. But right now I feel really miserable and I cannot fight with this problem alone anymore, so Im begging for your help. Thank u in advance!

My temperatures are fine, the laptop has a good cooler and also low tdp, DPC latencies are also more than fine. I have no monitoring tools while playing. Also my house is grounded and I dont have dirty electricity or any of these stuff, I am not electrician or specialist but I have checked that long time ago, there was a thread in github "cs runs fine only the first time" where people started talking about these stuff. It has to be something software related but I cant seem to find what causes this sh*t. Im not saying if but WHEN i fix it I swear I will spread the solution everywhere because you just cannot imagine how many people are affected and how many don't even know about this problem and they live with it and they are used to it. The feeling playing with 50 fps when your game runs more than fine makes you desperate.

Run HWMonitor while you play and post the readings.

I'm guessing you tried running the laptops out of just batteries without them being connected to the power supply right? Did that do anything?

This seems to be some sort of interference issue I think, as you mentioned sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse, you said that you tried at your friend's place, same issue, so it must be widespread in your region. If you tried the laptop with the batteries only, and it still gave you same issue, then it's most likely due to some sort of elector magnetic interference that isn't affecting your power, but your hardware. At this point you could try and incase your computer case in a slab of iron/steel, make sure it sits on rubber/plastic, and see if that helps. The iron/steel should shield a lot of interference if coming into your computer. If this helps the issue, but still doesn't fix it, you could try and apply the same idea to your mice, keyboard, and monitor, or at least their wires.

Also, what region are you from? What country? And do you live in a house or an apartment block?

Hello again, guys.

So I have an update about my problem and I need your help. Recently I started playing cs go and dota again and I found something that not only could be related to my problem but also to the solution. So my native desktop resoulution is 1920x1080 but I play games on lower resolutions. I just discovered that if I put my desktop resolution on lower resolution 4:3, for example 1024x768, and I start my game, the input lag when clicking, firing shots, casting spells is gone. However, my mouse sensitivity is broken because the games are not running in FSE. So I thought why not click "Disable fullscreen optimizations"? Guess what - the games still run in borderless windowed. They only run in proper FSE when my desktop resolution is set to 1920x1080 (native), but then the input lag comes back. Actually, even if I uncheck "Disable fullscreen optimizations" on my native desktop res, the games still run in FSE. Something is really broken, dunno what.

Hi, make a .reg file with the first and see if that lets you disable FSO(make sure Disable fullscreen optimizations on is checked on the exe) then restart. The second one is to undo.

Code: Select all

Hi, thanks for your help, unfortunately I can't still manage to get it work. I have already tried that with fr33thy's video, but my game is still in window borderless mode. It's like I have vsync on, even though I don't but my shooting is perfect and it registers all my clicks and my spray is the best I had in few years. Immediately after I switch to FSE my spray is broken, my clicks are delayed, and my character is heavy. Like lack of coordination between my windows/gpu drivers and the game, can't really describe it. Meanwhile in dota it's not that noticeable, because the game runs at 60fps, and I play on Russlan server with a bit higher ping. These are the only 2 games that I left on my system and that I play often, nothing else. I feel like I'm really close to solve it, CSGO started to talk to me again.

It is weird, because FR33THY stated in his tests that it should have lower input lag with FSO on on latest Windows 10 builds.
