Newer xinput1_3.dll causing higher mouse latency

Post by 3xil3 » 08 Jan 2022, 16:05

OK hear me out i found something really weird when come to how mouse feels.
It Just doesn't feel right and been like this for while now. Like Microsoft changed something in directX

Anyways long story short i did fresh install windows and some games wouldn't start said was missing xinput1_3.dll so downloaded Downtime after that my mouse felt off.

Lot trial error i narrowed to one of the dll files xinput1_3

Here "fix" to improve mouse latency. First test this out see if you can tell.
Go into your system32 folder and locate xinput1_3.dll move it to desktop. Then play around with your mouse see if feels better. Then put back into folder and should feel off again (this is imeidaly noticed no need to reboot pc). So what did was gone searching online for older xinput1_3.dll and found one and my mouse movements feel better.

Here link https://www.dll-files.com/xinput1_3.dll.html
The one you probably have is 9.18.944.0 I used 3.4.1.1357 and it made it better.

Also not sure of any impact on using older version microsoft clearly did something need to fix

It's worth trying without xinput and with older xinput. It has slight effect on my mouse movement but can't really call it an "improvement".

Yea I gave it a try and it seems very little smoother for some reason.
I would like to see someone who is using a controller to test this out since it looks like it is a controller emulator API.

Tested on windows IoT LTSC 21h2, EasyAntiCheat fails to load THE FINALS when replacing the dll in question.
