I've Discovered SOME very important Key FACTORS of the mouse input latency for Some. I think it's GPU RELATED
With careful introspection, I've noticed a few things in regards to my input latency. I've been experiencing Inconsistent, Floaty mouse, feels like the cursor is fighting against my movements etc. Mouse feel changes between Applications and webpages etc. I thought it was just a general inconsistency due to the nature of it being a possible "power issue". Now I'm convinced it isn't power related at all (for some, or maybe even most) and is GPU i.e = Monitor, UI, Hardware acceleration, Graphics Card, DX driver etc related.
I Think I've found a MAJOR discovery for some of us
I saw a post on Microsoft about disabling Hardware Acceleration on browsers to decrease mouse lag, sure enough it made my mouse feel snappier and pretty much normal on Chrome. Yet I still noticed the weird inconsistencies, with careful inspection, I noticed my mouse slows down/lags over almost ANY clickable link, icon, picture etc. Like it introduced mini Vsync/Hardware accel over these things in that instance, resulting in a floaty, inconsistent feeling like my mouse was fighting against me. I was able to recreate the mouse lag I feel when browsing indiscriminately, by moving my cursor around with Hardware acceleration on/moving over links etc.
Most people would never notice this or even think of it as an issue, and would put it off to being caused by something else. I disable hardware acceleration on chrome for example, and move my mouse back and forth in an area with no clickable UI options, my mouse feels PERFECT.
I googled this aswell, and several forum posts of people having a similiar issue (lag when mouse moves over Clickable UI interfaces or the entire application, if Hardware Accel Is enabled) surfaced. A few of these seemed to be caused by some bug with multiple monitors ? Which I don't have.
I tested one of the games I like to play, but it's almost impossible due to the inconsistent floaty mouse lag, league of legends, and the same thing pretty much held true. My mouse lagged over ANY clickable/interactive U.I interface parts of the hud.
Also, when using GeForce Experience overlay, with a game In Fullscreen (Alt+z) the mouse movement feels almost exactly how it feels when I get that floaty, inconsistent, laggy feeling. Except it's over the entirety of the screen. Opening it on the Desktop doesn't lend the Same results. First person/Reticle games don't suffer as much (I'm assuming because of no "clickable UI elements?") but sometimes if I have an app open with hardware accel i will feel that same lag
In conclusion, I think for alot of us it might be a GPU (possibly monitor aswell?) Issue, something related to UI interface, Graphics Card, Hardware Acceleration etc. Anything GPU related. Not related to "dirty power".

There's even more, but I think that's enough for now. I'm 98% convinced it is a GPU issue in some way shape or form. Yet, I don't know how we'd go about solving the issue. Is it an Nvidia driver issue? Microsoft UI/Interaction being buggy? Certain cards only? What are your thoughts

Might be worth it to test if you can disable the DWM and test it that way. What operating system you on?

No shit, are you dumb? What does that have to do with my post about it being a possible GPU issue. On one of the forum posts I mentioned Intel Support said it was an Intel Display Driver causing the issue for some. Which leads more credence to GPU related. Brand doesn't matterUnixko wrote: ↑10 Jan 2022, 09:38stop wasting your time with that it happens on AMD toZetaAlo wrote: ↑10 Jan 2022, 01:03With careful introspection, I've noticed a few things in regards to my input latency. 1. Stop use amd
2. Set up ur bios
3. install revios, useplatformtick no, 0.496ms timer, debloat NVIDIA driver, default mouse smoothXY.
4. stop fap on EMI.

What do you have against AMD? Lots of players use it without any issue.

It always frustrates me when people who respond to threads like this insist on the OP switch to the 'other' brand of hardware (Intel to AMD or vice versa) without even thinking. As if by magic it will sort your woes. But then say you pay £300+ for the other brand and you still have the problem (which is very often the case), said idiots just drift back into the darkness. So my advice is stick your fanboy crap and keep quiet. You may have an AMD and everything runs fine, great it might be an Intel and same, great but if you're just throwing fanboy comments are people you don't realize how much your idiocy can cost people.
If you honestly don't know then say nothing.
