XL2720Z broken?

Post by bst1337 » 20 Jun 2014, 16:26

Hi

I just unpacked my benq XL2720Z. Right away I tried the test ufo site, and something seems wrong. Most of the time it will display a double image - as in literally a double image. Not just a slight ghosting behind the UFO's, but a double image. Then all of a sudden the picture is pixel perfect for a couple of seconds before it goes to double ufo again as if the strobe timing is wrong. I've tried to mess with the strobe utility, but this dosent do anything for me. Anyone else seen a problem like this or is my monitor broken?

It actually looks like the image from 60Hz, even though it should run at 120Hz. How could this be?

What browser is this?

Internet explorer won't work with this test at 120hz. Try 100 hz.

There are also sync bugs that are brower related. I've seen double images at 100hz (permanently) in IE 11. When I closed the browser and restarted it was fully fixed.

Ive tried chrome and firefox. Also had "doubled" text scrooling horizontal over the screen in battlefield hardline.

OK, I think I've found the reason. Apparently - you cannot run a dual monitor setup along with this monitor. At least not a 60Hz on the side.
Can anyone confirm this or come with a solution to how its possible to run them both?

Thanks!

I don't know the actual problem, therefore an advanced user needs to help you in this case.
But you could try a little workaround, if you have an iGPU. Then you could activate it in BIOS/UEFI and connect your secondary monitor onto that iGPU. Afterwards only your primary monitor will be adjustable in your Nvidia Control Center. Maybe then your XL2720Z will actually work.
