(900hz) I think my display/computer is lying to me lol.

I decided to install windows xp professional for gaming reasons (game runs better on it).
Here's the thing though, my CRT monitor and graphics card/driver will accept any refresh rate now..
Since I have xp I can't test with the blur busters utility. Not that I would even benefit from a ridiculous number like 900hz... I just find it weird and I am concerned that I am not even getting the true 120hz if it lets me just select whatever number. (900 is highest I am willing to test in case of damage)

*Notes:
**At first it wont let me go to 120 hz, but then I create 100 hz/ set it to that and from there I am able to put any refresh rate in and it accepts it. (Nvidia custom resolution tool).
**I am using a displayport - vga converter, since my 670 doesn't have a vga port. I also used this when I had windows 7 and It worked normally.
**again this is windows xp professional
**Dell p991 CRT monitor

I think I figured it out. If I left the timing at automatic, it lets me put in whatever hz and the screen is the same pretty much. If I change the timing to manual, it limits me to 122hz, so that seems normal.

Most of monitors has OSD that shows current mode (resolution and refresh rate). You can use refresh rate multitool to check for frame skipping.

pretty sure 900hz at 800x600 is beyond the hardware limitation for horizontal scan frequency
