Zowie xl2546 work hours

Post by paradox404 » 06 May 2022, 18:04

Hi guys, got a durty cheap xl2546 the other day and it has 20k on "monitor on time" and 7k on "backlight on time" according to the service menu. So my question is how many hours the display has been working for, is it 20k or its 7k? Here is a pic of the menu -

About ~20K hours plugged in and powered (but not necessarily awake)

About ~13K hours in a sleep mode (i.e. automatic-shutoff Windows screensaver)

About ~7K hours displaying something

Most just use 240Hz VSYNC OFF.

However, further improvements depends on if you need to use DyAc or not, and whether you decide to use the refresh rate headroom tricks (e.g. 182Hz) to reduce strobe crosstalk. Strobing does look even better at framerate=Hz, and crosstalk can go down (while GPU requirements become easier) when refresh rate is slightly reduced to improve the quality of DyAc. Not everybody uses that trick, but it is one of the many tricks possible.
