1440p Gold Standard Monitor as of right now?

Post by Quarksie » 08 May 2022, 17:19

Hello every one,

I open this thread exactly because I didnt find a kind of dynamic Tier-list on the forum.

This is after the place for that, a forum: where every one's knowledge, encounters with a product could be shared for others to enjoy or for buy orientation purposes.

There could be more pinned threads like Discorz compare UFO Thread. And Tier lists, moahahaha... well that's the type that will interest me right now, as I am in the quest of my new monitor. Tier lists... by resolutions preferably. As refresh rate is too situational.

Monitor technology? I guess we will all agree after reading a bit in this forum that the only exciting technology for the upcoming year 2023 is how will OLED develop in its presented format as well as marketing. Preferably resolution, no matter panel or refresh rate (let's say after 144/170Hz)

I am looking for a good 1440p maybe not the best but I would like to know from the forum's good people expertise which one could be:
-the Gold Standard (the 1440p so good we'd benchmark every other against it)
-the Silvers the good monitor almost as good as the best one.
-the Bronzes, come close but have to much drawbacks (lack of Sync or BFI or overly expensive)

I read a lot and for now I can connect my wishes with a few of them: Asus XG27AQM, Acer XB273U, HP 27c, Gigabyte M32Q.

I would like to read your recommendations, what should the Gold standard be in your opinion and the other good knowed/unknown monitor that deserve a look at.

Thank you every one :D

PG279QM should be nice. His twin brother is XG27AQM (cheaper) with same panel I think. If u don't need perfect colors or motion and want to save some money consider even cheaper M27Q X which is still a good monitor. MAG274QRX could also be good but there is not much info on it. Thats for 240+Hz, maybe you don't need such high refresh rate.

Unless u really want big 32" screen there is no point in getting more than 27" for 1440p. Pixel size/density is more eye pleasing at 109ppi.
