Rumors were saying that they would be using the same panel as the next Zowie monitor (AUO 360Hz TN) but it appears to be using another panel without any G-Sync module, atleast it looks like that they are using a much better stand than their last monitors!

Re: Alienware AW2523HF announced
seems to be using a 360hz ips panel from LG. interesting that theyd release another 360hz ips when they already have the aw2521h.
The aw2523hf panel may be similar to the LG 240hz ips found in the S2522HG.

FYI on the topic of panel types, TFTCentral keeps a relatively up-to-date database of monitor panels by size here.

Re: Alienware AW2523HF announced
Well got mine today, was a complete disaster, guess it's some kind of B-Stock - I hope at least - (how is that even possible in that short amount of time), high frequent noises/hum, stand was damaged, the display itself was full with dirt and fingerprints - great QC... Requested a replacement unit - let me know if there are any tests you would like to see.
Re: Alienware AW2523HF announced
Could you perhaps get into the service menu and tell us which panel it has? And do some testUFO ghosting tests at 960pps or 1440pps at max refresh rate! Thanks!lostinpixelation wrote: ↑12 Sep 2022, 13:42Well got mine today, was a complete disaster, guess it's some kind of B-Stock - I hope at least - (how is that even possible in that short amount of time), high frequent noises/hum, stand was damaged, the display itself was full with dirt and fingerprints - great QC... Got the replacement unit today, unfortunately the high frequent noise is also present on this unit - I can't recommend this monitor to anyone who has good hearing unfortunately.
Can't seem to find the service menu (there is only 1 joystick, the usual stuff didn't open the service menu) - if there are any ideas I can test them before sending this unit back for good.
UFO tests (there are some up for this model now in some reviews) are pretty much the same as for the 2521h - no ghost but average motion blur.
Re: Alienware AW2523HF announced
Perhaps turning the monitor off and pressing some combination of joystick clicks (perhaps 3/5 times left/right would do the trick? Cannot find any info on how to enter service menu for Alienware monitors with joysticks, so I guess one would have to bruteforce his way)lostinpixelation wrote: ↑26 Sep 2022, 07:01kyube wrote: ↑12 Sep 2022, 18:40Could you perhaps get into the service menu and tell us which panel it has? The only review I've found that did a horrendous job at pursuit photography (and the only current review) of the AW2523HF is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNiLwUBmND8
He did not sync the framerate with this refresh rate and he did not follow the UFO at all, along with improper camera settings.
It is very vague to claim "no ghost but average motion blur", a properly done testUFO or response times measurements tell a different story. If possible, do a pursuit shot of your monitor! Follow Chief's guide on how to set it up properly.

Tech Nuovo did a common mistake of recording ufo statically. It's called pursuit for a reason. Here is a quick pursuit guide if u are willing to do one: viewtopic.php?p=74863#p74863

Thanks for posting. Looks to be same as concurent 360 IPS panels but can't know for sure (M250HAN03.0, although there are M250HAN03.2, M250HAN03.3 in existence)
