Is the OptimumTech review of this monitor an accurate representation of how the colors look on this monitor?
Looks better than my Viewsonic XG270 240hz and I'm really really trying to weigh the costs and benefits of upgrading.
How is Dyac+? I've never used a Zowie monitor and it's been like 10 years since I used a TN panel.
Wait, how could you see that it looks better than your current monitor - if you're watcing it with your current monitor - which is afterall, displaying the image you are seeing

. But yeah, OptimumTech surely is known for making just about everything look beautiful.
TN is definitely worse image quality by quite noticeable margin. But then again. I don't know. If you sit in front of it (like you should) and you dont have a IPS/VA reference right next to it. I don't know. It looks fine really and sometimes I feel people excaggerate this aspect a bit too much. All LCD's are still somewhat compromised when it comes to iq.
Dyac+ is the thing with Zowie monitors. Without it, they have class leading motion clarity, for sure, but dyac is what makes them leap further than anything else really. But strobing is not for everyone, you could not like the "feeling" of it, or you can get physically sick or eyestrains.
If competitive gaming is all you do, and you want the best 1080p tool for the job. I think this is it. At least for now.

Is the BenQ XL2566k able to do QFT like the ViewSonic XG2431?

Yeah. Here are my settings. By default the pixel clock for me was 932.40, but it can be pushed a bit.
Hey man, I am kind of new to this, I've seen a few posts about QFT but can't really seem to understand it fully and whether it's beneficial on XL2566K at 360hz. By using these settings what changes? Also, is running DyAc while at 360hz, but at around 220-240 FPS, still fine, or should I lower the refresh rate?

QFT is usually not beneficial to max Hz
QFT is a way of speeding up slow refresh cycles, e.g. transmitting a 120Hz refresh cycle in 1/360sec.
- Lower lag for low Hz
- Less strobe crosstalk (double image effects) for low Hz
If you run at 240Hz, QFT would help. Use ToastyX VT calculator for that.

I guess I am an outlier in this regard. I vastly prefer the look of TN panels to IPS panels. I currently use the 390 Hz Acer IPS 1080p for the insanely low latency, but I certainly preferred the image of my 240 Hz Alienware TN 1080p monitor. I'd like to switch to this monitor or the upcoming Asus 500 Hz monitor because I really miss the TN look. But ultimately OLED is king. I can't wait for 360+ Hz OLEDs.

In my opinion, the colors of this XL2566K are very good compared to other previous TN panels like XL2546K. The latest IPS that I used are XG2431 and PG279QM, and I didn't suffer much from the panel change, on the contrary, I'll tell you more, with the TN I can distinguish enemies better than the background, and in dark areas, the black equalizer is best implementation, doesn't hurt so much i contrast. This factor concerning OLED monitors worries me, because the blacks on these are beautiful, the pixels turn off instead of turning black, however this thing does not go well with competitive fps, it will be difficult if not impossible to see enemies in the shadows , I think they are suitable for AAA titles instead

How does the xl2566k compare to the Pg279qm in regards to response time and motion clarity?
I currently use the PG and acer 390hz but use the PG more because it handles motion better and has better response time without BFI.
I’m considering getting this because I’ve never experienced zowie TN panels. Don’t care about viewing angles and colors can be tweaked.

I’m contemplating whether this monitor would be worth it for me. I’ve never owned a zowie monitor or a TN panel so this is very intriguing.
I currently have a Pg279qm and acer 390hz.. the Pg279qm has the better panel and handles motion better despite only being 240hz, but doesn’t feel as snappy as the 24inch. I’m starting to believe 24inch provides the most locked in snappy feeling in game.
Despite the low input lag and responsiveness of the acer, it still has the noticeable motion blur and I don’t like how dark it gets with VRB extreme.
I think I’m going to sell my current monitors, pick up this zowie for fps games, and eventually get a 4K OLED 32” monitor for single player games once those become a thing. I’ve a got a 4K tv but it’s capped at 60 which is fine for story mode games.
Im a very sweaty fps player and I sold my pg279qm for that exact reason and went back to my asus vg259qm 280hz. I have the xl2566k on the way and ill be sure to leave a review with the comparison. Funny enough I plan on doing the exact same thing and purchasing an oled just for single player games

Ahh a fellow sweat! Haha
The PG is a great all around monitor if you want only 1 screen, imo. Doesn’t really specialize in any one area so I think as a sweaty fps player who also enjoys single player games, having 2 screens will provide the best experience.
A 32inch OLED 4k 144hz would be my ideal content consumption/single player game screen.
Once you’ve got some hands on time, please let us know how you like the xl2566k and if it’s a noticeable improvement over the IPS panels.
