my findings about "THE PROBLEM"

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

--> the less industry, the better? But why has the problem existed for me since around 2012 and not always?
--> Photovoltaic systems cause the problem? (less sun in nordic states -> less photovoltaic systems)
It is density of internetusage.

I noticed it creeping in in 2012/2013 as well.
Thats when all the smartphones came on the market
Youtube, Netflix became big, and the average idiot started to use the Internet

The shitty hardware of the telcos is still to this day subpar. they are reselling their lines and my bet is they run heavy QOS on their hardware to be able to handle the load.

Whats different in Nordic countries? They have a way higher capacity of total internetbandwith than actual usage.

But why are there issues offline? I can queue up free play on my console/PC and the same weird interactions and crosshair behavior are still present. It seems like most people with this issue don’t see any benefit from being offline.

I feel super identify with this, In fact sometimes when I shutdown my pc, the led light of the mouse remains active, then I need to switch off the power supply then switch back to on, to not discharge the motherboard battery, this way the mouse led goes off finally.

I also noticed that sometimes when trying to turn on the pc it won't turn on, and hence I need to hold the power button for 30-45 seconds, then release, wait 5 seconds then press, and the pc starts.

I think that we are facing a lot of statics and it is building over time as you mention, and that thing of coax cables that can work like antennas make a lot of sense to me.
