XG2431 strobe behavior (unit variance, 144Hz vs XL2566K, and PC/console workflow)

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, ToastyX, black frame insertion (BFI), and now framerate-based motion blur reduction (framegen / LSS / etc).

Hey 😊 thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for explaining everything so clearly 🙏
No problem. If u need anything feel free to ask :). Let me know how things went.

EDIT:
I just remembered there is a XL2566K discussion thread here on forums. So definitely check that out. There might be some useful information there. User Axaro is the only one I know who actually tried to tune the 66K via Strobe Utility. So maybe he can chime in.

Hi Discorz,

I just wanted to share a quick update after testing and tuning my setup, and also to thank you (and Kyube as well) for all the guidance — it has been extremely helpful.

After applying your suggestions, I’ve managed to get both the ViewSonic XG2431 and the BenQ Zowie XL2566K working really well.

On the XG2431:

* 60 Hz strobing is now essentially perfect
* 120 Hz is very close to perfect

And on the XL2566K:

* 144 Hz strobing is now also performing very well after tuning

So overall, I’m very happy with the results on PC.

The only remaining limitation for me is console use, since I can’t apply CRU/QFT there and still see some crosstalk at 60 Hz on the XG2431.

Regarding input lag comparisons (especially vs the newer Asus ULMB2 / Pulsar displays), I’ve written a separate post in the Asus section of the forum, as I thought it would be more appropriate to keep that discussion there.

I’m sharing it here in case you’d like to take a look — I’d really value your opinion, and hopefully we can arrive at a clear conclusion with input from others as well.

Thanks again for all your help — I really appreciate it.
