Visibility in Apex Legends is to narrow on CRT 22" enemy's are simply to small on it when they are far away. I still got an vg259qm ( the one Faide had) and Apex plays better overall on it. Not always: close range it's not better. But overall it is.

But Quake Live requires to much alertness to really own. I had some great runs on it on my CRT not long ago. on one server I had a couple games that made me feel ok I can stop now. I peaked.
On a other server with the best of the best I realised that my muscle memory will never be as good as those guys even if I slept 8 hours I would not come close so I decided to not play Quake Live anymore it's enough. I will try the Pulsar monitor once or twice with Quake Live but if it sucks it sucks.
I remember playing Apex on the PG27AQN it was very nice only ULMB2 cutted the nits in half so I returned it after 2 weeks. The Puslar version of it does not have this problem what makes it the ultimate Apex Legends monitor imo. Chances are I will play it for a couple months and sell everything and stop gaming. I stopped last year and sold all my gear but I needed to try CRT before I could really quit. ( I could get one for 150 euro in mint condition 3 months ago) I am selling the Vision Master Pro 512 tomorrow.

Now that this thread has 100+ pages of discussion with firmware updates would you still choose your 360Hz pulsar IPS over a 500Hz oled? They're the same $600 right now after all.

Depends on your use case and what you value, for me I couldn't just pick one, I would like having both monitors.

The OLED for games that hit close to 500fps.

The Pulsar for Console and PC games between 60-360fps.

For esports the upcoming 24inch 540hz OLED might be worth checking out.

If you want the lowest possible latency, best in class HDR, don't get headaches from QD-OLED (go for WOLED in that case since it doesn't seem to give as much eye strain as QD OLED) and don't mind losing Gsync/freesync (due to OLED VRR flicker) go for OLED. They have made them more resistant to burn in over the years but I cannot personally stand not having Gsync, it really does make games feel smooth at any given refresh rate (Using vsync introduces input lag, no vsync = tearing and you'll have to resort to the poor man's adaptive sync aka scanline sync from riva to move the tear line to the top or bottom of the screen where you won't see it to get a Gsync-like experience and you'll have to possibly tune it on a per game basis).

If you want to play games at lower FPS with maxed out settings with more motion clarity than even the 540 hz OLED monitor, don't get headaches due to backlight strobing flicker (it's more consistent than VRR flicker so more tolerable imo), don't mind that Gsync pulsar doesn't work perfectly out of the box "yet" (requires you tuning fps cap on a per game basis and some games will never be optimized well enough to avoid gsync pulsar compensation pulse no matter how low you go), don't mind having an inferior HDR experience to OLED (I most certainly don't, I prioritize crispy frames) then Gsync pulsar is best option on the market for VRR + Strobing. Gsync pulsar gives 4x the motion clarity at a given refresh rate (so 120 fps "looks" like 480 fps in motion clarity) and ULMB 2 will soon add 120 global flash which should allow at least 16x motion clarity for 120 hz with no visible flicker (unlike the 60 hz ULMB 2 which is perfect but the flicker is noticible).

If you want elite backlight strobing with best in class motion clarity (I'm talking 16x the clarity at a given refresh rate) I'd say there are fixed backlight strobing options out there that are better but have trade offs of either
1. Crosstalk
2. Only Fixed strobing available with no app or keyboard shortcut commands to easily switch resolutions + strobe modes without third part software possibly
3. Don't get firmware updates so what you see is what you get.
I saw there's some chinese mini LED IPS panels coming out that have rolling scan backlight strobing but I cannot say they are good or bad since I don't own one.

Never mind it did work, it was 8k polling mouse in games causing huge fps drops xD, but I don't know it just didn't look all that clear, I think this monitor needs sharpness slider despite being 1440p

Anyone with a 50 series gpu, does this monitor allow custom refresh rates and resolutions without tweaking?

60hz ulmb2 at 10, is crazy, it blows anything away, but it's still too dim and it's too choppy for any fps game

Good news for linux users, pulsar won't need workarounds soon going off of this thread on the nvidia forum.
We have implemented support for G-SYNC Pulsar on Linux and plan to have it available in an upcoming release.

I think the same, this pulsar monitors all needs the sharpness slider, it's not that hard to implement this.

And need some changes for borderless mode games that don't work with pulsar. I like the borderless, but in some cases, pulsar only work in exclusive fullscreen ( like in PUBG )

Hello,

i got the ASUS XG27AQNGV 7 days ago for 400€(probably a steal for that price) i was on a xl2566k and would like to set it up properly.

If someone more tech-savvy and with more experience could suggest things.
Im only not sure if the ambient sensor on top of the monitor is working as intended.

Fist of some details:
Im on latest Firmware
Im on a 5070ti and 9800x3d and playing mostly cs2 with over 360fps.
Is there something i should consider for fps?, capped at 360 or uncapped, PULSAR or ULMB2

What is the difference in the aspect ratio mode "27 default" and "no scaling".
At those two there is no gpu scaling option in NCP, but on the 25 Modes there is

Waht is "better" sRGB or Wide Gamut, are there other settings to consider just setting and forgetting the "G-SYNC Esports" Profile is only needed.

Think I might have found an issue with the Asus XG27AQNGV G-sync Pulsar on the 1.1.6 firmware (MCM102) and I believe someone mentioned this random 'grey flicker' before in this thread but I can't find it at this moment.

I just happened to lock Metro Last Light Complete Edition to 60FPS using Rivatuner with Nvidia Reflex mode in RTSS to try to fix some crashing in some sections of the game.

But then I observed very occasional fullscreen 'flicker' that only happens once, it looks like a strobing-backlight on the camera going from bottom to top of the panel in slowmotion when it happens. Seen it happen both ingame but also on the loading screen in the video below at the 31-32 seconds mark.

It kind of looks like a backlight pulse that shouldn't be there.

Some possible reproduction details:
  • RTX 5090 10-bit wide gamut SDR
  • The Pulsar mode is enabled
  • Pulsar low limit at 75Hz
  • Pulsar Brightness 350
  • G-sync Brightness 400
  • Screen is set to 360Hz
  • Power setting: Standard
  • Driver 610.47
  • Firmware 1.1.6 (MCM102)
  • Multi-monitor setup: PG279Q G-sync 165Hz + BenQ BL2411PT 60Hz
  • Discord/Vivaldi on the 165Hz screen / Twitch stream on the 60Hz screen.
  • Game: Metro Last Light Complete Edition (GoG)
  • Windows 10 22H2 Pro x64 + ESU
  • Discord/Steam etc. overlays turned off except RTSS for MSI AB
I am also not certain if it will stop if Pulsar mode is deactivated from the OSD, but it looks like it possibly tried to enable in a framerate range where it shouldn't be active.
After I deactivated Pulsar I couldn't quickly reproduce it but I did not test that thoroughly.

I don't really recall seeing this during unlocked higher variable framerates in the Pulsar range like this.
