Hello, today im reproduce this again and create a video that demonstrates how the pulse stop working in borderless mode in pubg, uploading a video on youtube, made a screenshot with all my NVCP and NVAPP settings, and im export a file from Nvidia Profile Inspector Revamp with all my settings from my pubg, so u can clearly and fastly set this settings to the game using the nvidia profile inspector revamp ( here's the url on google disc for download
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nh5Kt7 ... drive_link ). Im using the MSI mpg 272qrf x36 monitor with the latest 1.1.6 FW ( on older versions of FW this pulse stop working the same way).
Im trying earlier with gsync only fullscreen and gsync fullscreen and windowed mode and nothing changes. Afterall ill try to fill your form for more information. Thx for advance this problem, annoying that u cant fast alttab from game cause u need to play in exclusive fullscreen mode.
All the steps to reproduce this problem u can find in the video below from youtube.
P.s. fill your form already for more OS and BUILD info.
P.P.s. Im only using steam overlay ingame for FPS and CPU/GPU info

Man that sucks! For shits and giggles, do you happen to own lossless scaling? You can buy it on steam for $7 at the time of writing, then make a profile for pubg and make sure Frame gen is "off", Scaling type is set to "off", Sync mode is set to "Vsync", G-Sync support toggled "on" and Capture API set to WGC (currently working for me on latest windows 11). This usually forces Gsync for me on games that don't play nice with borderless windowed mode. Some games have an issue where MPO puts the game in layer 0 which craps out Gsync in borderless mode (I had this issue when I played farlight 84 and it turned out it didn't like 3 monitors but it worked if I turned one off! what a weird bug!).
Y i know that this situation is suck, im use the loseless scaling with all my video, im push fps to the 360hz and like the perfect motion of the videos, but ingame im dont use it cause it gives a latency with frame gen, without frame gen im never use it and i have now 342fps and 342 fps 1% ( rarely comes to 250-300) , so i dont need it, but now im remember that my system now working without MPO, mpo badly impact on my system, sometimes rise the cpu and gpu clocks for no reason and fries my system, so i turn it OFF
P.s. WoW, something strange happens when i try this method and use loseless scaling only for gsync, im turn on Gsync indicator in NVAPP and when im turn borderless mode on, my gsync just turns OFF, if im using the loseless scaling without framegen and without scaling, only WGC mode, Vsync ( or tearing ) and gsync support, my borderless mode starts using Gsync and indicator turns green and pulsar start working like intended, but only in high fps, if i turn it on 85 locked fps gsync works for minute or two and turns off, just idk, strange gsync implementation, funny
P.P.s. Nah, Gsync working only 15sec to 1 min and turns off again in borderless mode, lol, not a good solution
If you turned off MPO then I expect that some borderless fullscreen implementations will stop working (some devs explicitly developed with MPO in mind). Either way, sucks that Gsync only works for a minute using lossless, I don't play pubg so I wouldn't know what to tell you but I might download and try if I can reproduce the issue myself later this week.
Note: I have had issues like this in the past and I did a DDU (display driver uninstaller) full wipe and only edited the control panel options using nvidia control panel or nvidia app, the moment I use something like nvidia inspector (or third party forks of it) I had random issues that would crop up like gsync not working in borderless windowed so I think it might be worth doing a full DDU wipe, re-install the latest nvidia driver and then trying pubg again but that's just my 2 cents from my experience.
My games works perfectly fine now, 0 statters, and doing ddu uninstall for only borderless mode is just meh, mb if i have some more time ill try this
P.s. Turning on the MPO doesn't fix the Gsync and Borderless mode problem

I finally find the root of the problem with Gsync and borderless mode. Ill try again to turn on the Gsync in PUBG in fullscreen and windowed mode( it starts working only like this - if u set gsync only fullscreen it anyways dont working in borderless mode ), and it finally starts working, BUT, this but(t), my monitors OSD fps shows me only 144fps hardlock, even when my PUBG works on 342 fps and steam overlay says that i have 342 fps ingame. AND NOW IM UNDERSTANDS, i HAVE a second monitor, my old zowie xl2735 ( THIS 144HZ and zowie dont have GSYNC ), so i turn the monitor off the GPU and GSYNC starts working like intended with borderless mode in PUBG, my monitor OSD shows exactly my RTSS framecap in 342fps and PULSAR working.
And now i have an issue, when my old Zowie 144hz monitor JUST connect with my GPU with DP cable (monitor OFF) and in Windows set the 2nd monitor to expanding mode, when i turn on the Gsync ( fullscreen and windowed MODE ) in Borderless mode in PUBG - My Msi's OSD says that im HARDCAPPED for 144hz, if i turn the DP cable of my ZOWIE OFF or set in Win11 2nd monitor mode to Only 1 monitor, the Gsync with borderless mode start Working like intended and monitors OSD says it's capped to 342fps ( my RTSS cap ).
P.s. Pretty strange BUG i think and now im understand why the Nvidia Employees cant reproduce this, CAUSE THEY TRY IT WITHOUT 2nd MONITOR, LOL. Im done

Lossless Scaling has been working really well with the Pulsar monitor for me.
Because it keeps the frame rate extremely stable and locked to whatever target I set, the compensation pulse rarely activates. This results in very clean and consistent motion. I’ve been testing it in Mafia: The Old Country.
The game’s built-in NVIDIA frame generation actually feels lower lag than Lossless Scaling, but it produces noticeably worse clarity in motion with some stutter too.
Lossless Scaling gives better motion clarity overall, but at the cost of more visible artifacts and slightly higher lag.
The big advantage LS brings is the rock-solid frame pacing, which seems to work particularly nicely with Pulsar’s strobing.
It makes me wonder if NVIDIA could offer some kind of hybrid or more stable frame generation option that combines the better image quality and lower lag of their current solution with the kind of frame rate consistency you get from tools like Lossless Scaling.
Has anyone else noticed this? I haven’t tested Smooth Motion yet but I guess it’s similar?

Smooth motion is like a frame gen x2 but with less input lag and less artifacts, just try it

I mentioned this a while back, nvidia already has all the pieces to implement this on dlss native games with adaptive frame gen BUT they need to fix that it doesn't work with vsync and the algorithm that determines what multipliers to use. If they do a driver level one, they can probably do smooth motion with higher multipliers and using those ai cores to clean up the artifacts that would otherwise show up in apps like lossless scaling that don't have as large of a data set to train their models on. Why not use ai to stabilize frame times? maybe they need reflex 2 in order to finally get frame gen to properly get those frame times in check AND do adaptive with vsync.

Ive been experiencing noticeable temporary image retention using Pulsar with the new firmware, usually from static white text and icons. This was not an issue on previous firmware so I’m wondering if anyone else had the same problem.
I can probably second this on the Asus Pulsar with the 1.1.6 MCM102 firmware.
I also noticed some weird temporary horizontal lines on the screen that eventually faded away, which I just assumed was a bit normal for a display to have some sort of temporary retention when an image is displayed for extended long time periods but I mean like half an hour time of periods, but this looks very quickly reproducible and if you say it I can definitely believe it to be a regression.
The easiest and quickest way to reproduce this weirdness for me was running the following test for like 20-30 seconds in fullscreen:
https://testufo.com/ghosting
Then run this test directly after in fullscreen:
https://testufo.com/framerates-versus
Especially it was noticeable on the blue-greyish surfaces on the framerate versus game motion test where the horizontal bars were located on the previous test making it look really jarring, but it was hard to capture it on camera, until...
If you run the ghosting test for 1 minute or longer, the horizontal bars stay on screen for a long period of time before fading away, even visible on the desktop background or anything you have opened.
Seems to be reproducible both with Pulsar ON and OFF though I had Pulsar ON.
See video/pictures below:
Yeah that's pretty much what I'm experiencing. The image retention becomes particularly noticeable with a gray background, even if very faint. I've even gotten the google homepage retained on screen when left for too long.

using spyder x, racing mode, not much difference to be honest, this monitor is already calibrated pretty good
pulsar on gets to 550 nits

tnx dude I just unpacked the monitor 2 minutes ago. Do you maybe have some more advice for a guy that will play Apex Legends that has a natural cap of 300 fps?

After carefully reading all the posts, reviews and pretty much everything available, I'm about to buy this monitor. I'm not an OLED guy, so my point of reference is the typical IPS panel.
I would like to ask you guys that already have the monitor a few questions.
1. How's the panel quality ? I've read a lot of reports about dead / stuck pixels and a lot of RMAs. A lot of them had good panels that started having stuck pixels after a few weeks, which worries me. Also, what about backlight bleed ?
2. Is there coil whine ? I'm kinda sensitive and some people have reported it. If there is, could you check if it dissapears when you turn Pulsar off, or when you reduce the refresh rate to ex: 240 Hz.
3. Is the contrast that "bad" ? I mean i don't care about OLED or miniLED contrast, my previous 1440p monitors have been Dell Ultrasharp U2514H and G2724D and i was totally fine with it.
4. Lastly are the viewing angles good enough for single person desktop usage, based on your experience ?
Any feedback would be much appreciated
