90% finished input lag in CS2/Valorant - a datapoint

Everything about latency. This section is mainly user/consumer discussion. (Peer-reviewed scientific discussion should go in Laboratory section). Tips, mouse lag, display lag, game engine lag, network lag, whole input lag chain, VSYNC OFF vs VSYNC ON, and more! Input Lag Articles on Blur Busters.

Capping frames in Valorant is such a pain in the ass.. using nv limiter it causes huge frametime Spikes. Using ingame cap makes my mouse feel sluggish.. uncapped can be 600-900 depending on the map - which makes it super inconsistent from a dsync pov

Just wanted to post an update to my setup and a few interesting observations -

I'm now running 9800x3d with 6200cl28 1:1 and all the usual BIOS CPU OC. 5090 +200/+3000 flat OC through afterburner. Monitor is Asus PG27AQDP. I now run CS2 with -noreflex and LLM "on". Deathadder v4 Pro. Type 99 Mid. 60HE v1.

1. DSR factors: I think just enabling it in nvcp adds a frame or two of delay. I couldn't find any information online about this though. DLDSR is great when you have a 5090+1440p oled, I'd be interested in hearing if others notice a difference. I don't have the Nvidia App installed.

2. Disabling FSO is still way to go. Yes I too watched Monesy's short telling people to not disable it.

3. With -noreflex, definitely try LLM on. Ultra works but I prefer on.

4. When my system is not dialed in or when I play valorant with gsync+vsync, I prefer playing with 1000hz and Razer Synapse running in the background. When I play cs2 though I prefer 4/8khz and Synapse off. 400dpi in cs2 and 1600dpi in Val. Maybe having Synapse running in the background add smoothing? Is "MotionSync" really hardware level?

5. Somewhat related to 4, I'm super unsure about this but with Razer mice having a higher battery level = more accurate flicks? It's less obvious with my Deathadder v4 than with the Mini SE and Viper v2 Pro. I struggled to pin this down. Surely modern premium mice have immaculate voltage regulation, surely.

6. Process Lasso's new GPU priority seems to actually make a difference, at least in CS2. Feels as if I had OC'ed my GPU twice. My GPU is already on MSI default priority. I disable core 0.

Again, usual disclaimer, this is just a datapoint. Hope it helps someone.

Edit: typo
