Yes, thats it. There is no magical reason why the Asus one would have better picture than the Acer... 1080p vs 1440p, thats it.

The Acer27 is almost the same price than the lesser quality AOC24 because of the following:
With new tech to sell instead of the usual shit they have been peddling for years all these companies have lost their fucking minds and want to make as much money as possible before the new stuff they have gets too common to be overpriced.

Acer however seems to give the middle finger to every other competitor and apparently decided to sell their stuff with reasonable prices to get a bigger chunk of the market and get a better image. Guess they are ok with making 100% profit of their cost, instead of 200% profit that AOC and Asus wants.

So that means on 27 there's going to be bigger pixels than on 24.

I don't really think that's the same thing. I get that there's "always something better," but 1080p @ 27" is pretty poor pixel density for a desktop monitor. Subjectively speaking, of course. 1080p at 24" is a standard experience for most people. For an enthusiast product, it seems a bit off the mark to me too. But we're not all in it for the same experience, and some people don't care about pixel density.

We're all here because we care about motion quality.. that much is true! But people have different priorities, and I certainly do care about image quality. Even on a TN panel. It's all relative.

27 inch is too big for my desk. I have my eyes 60cm away from the screen, that's like 2 feet I think.

I think I'll wait for Asuses 24inch monitor.

If VG248QE enchanced ever comes or BenQ XL2420T... or if I make a scaling like from XL2420T, or is that not possible on Acers?

Why is everyone disregarding the AOC for another 24 inch monitors? Does AOC usually have bad quality?

I wish we had more reviews available for the AOC g2460pg available. The one available isn't really much in-depth.

Asus doesnt have an an announced 24". The prototype one is 24" buts its shit. Noone should buy one unless they have money to burn on experimenting.

Dunno, some people think that brand names mean something. They dont. Nowadays they all are peddling the same trash. And kids who fall for marketing bullshit buy the expensive brand and think they got a good deal.

Still, always research before buying. But prefering brands before either product is even out is just stupid. People like that deserve to be ripped off if you ask me.

I have a VG278HE and this is correct, but from 1M away from the monitor it doesn't really differ from 1080p 24" (got both monitors side by side)

Well, maybe it is slightly sharper (if you stare at details) on 1080p screen when I compare fullscreen, detailed 4K downscaled game screenshots even from that distance! (I just did)

I would love to see how much better stuff like that looks on 1440p and 4k pixel density panels :p

1440p on a 27" has higher resolution (pixels per inch) than 1080p on 24".

1080p 24": 91.79 PPI
1440p 27": 108.79 PPI
1440p 32": 91.79 PPI

1440p on 27" has the same pixel density as 1080p on 20.25". To get the same pixel density with 1440p as 1080p/24", you need 32".

Going from 1080p to 1440p doesn't look like much at first, but in fact, it's a 78% increase in resolution. That's quite huge. Which is why it's such a performance killer, even on high-end GPUs.
