PROLOGUE. I have purchased and tried EVERy 240hz monitor. The MSI is lightyears ahead of every other 240hz ips monitor. Feel free to click on my profile and check out my other threads explaining it.

The backstory is this. I purchased this monitor FOUR times(2 used and 2 new). All of which either had a dead pixel or BLB. I'm extremely picky when i make expensive purchases because if i make a purchase, i intend to keep it for the next 3-5 yrs. With that being said, here are the pics.



Here is the one I bought brand new. aggressive BLB everywhere

(especially on the upper left bezel)

This had BLB on the bottom right corner but sadly, there was a dead pixel.




i was ready to give up. But i tried ONE more time(4th attempt) and i finally got the PERFECT MSI with no Backlight bleed, no dead pixels.

the white thing u see is just glare. Rest assure through the naked eye, it was pitch black. NO BLB. NONE, NADA ZILCH.

Part 1. Viewing angles and colors







125% SRGB(Lawlll, i lucked out bcuz other MSI usually cap at 108-114% SRGB
. 80% DCI-p3. 10 bit color with(8 bit+FRC) 1 billion colors. The extra vibrance is due to panel variance. I just happen to have a WIDE gamut vibrant colors.

1200:1 contrast(look at those black.) TIED witht he FI27q-p from gigabyte for the highest IPS contrast.

keep in mind, as u can see, i took these photos in a TOTALLY DARK ROOM. Which means it should amplify the bad contrast. but gueess what? i don't see it. 1200:1 contrast>>>800:1 contrast(AW)

LuL at the TN being reviewed> Look at the whites, notice u won't see a yellow tint like the asus

For a point of reference, here are the Asus TUF VG279qm/VG259qm colors (8 bit colors(6 bit+FRC).

(those are individual pixels, 1080p at 27" is laughable at best. also, can you spot the dead pixel? because in person, it's VERY obvious.

also notice that slight cloudy look. That's a function of 1050:1 to 1100:1 contrast ratio(the average of the ASSUS monitors), the MSI ranges from 1200:1 to 1280:1 contrast ratio.

Back to the MSI. This is 99% SRGB(ICC profile, PM ME FOR SRGB)




This is 125% SRGB (notice the oversaturation; however, it's NOT washed out. Which means this is a true wide gamut panel.



more viewing angles.(looking from the BOTTOM, this is a MAJOR weakness to TN; however, NOT a weakness to IPS)

For those people curious. I also own a 98% DCI-p3 133% SRGB wide gamut Nano panel called the viewsonic elite xg270qg


I KID YOU NOT, the MSI and the viewsonic has VERY VERY similar vibrant colors(the viewsonic has a stronger saturation because of 133-140% SRGB, but its too redundant. 125% is the sweet spot where you won't see "RED SKIN" on every human being.

MSI, "just right" saturation. No "unicorn puking" look like the 98% dci-p3 nano panel.

as you can see, even the wide gamut 98% DCI-p3 133% SRGB viewsonic nano IPS monitor, the MSI makes the a wide gamut monitor look like a unicorn PUKED on it.

Holy mother of god. Even the MSI can make BenQ Zowie XL2546S have excellent viewing angles! Wow, who would've thought an IPS monitor can magically make TN have good viewing angles.

10 bit color depth(other IPS 240hz monitors are limited to 8 bit color depth)

this topic explains the response times(two oscilloscopes used $450 expensive and $80 digital). But to summarize, it has roughly a 3.0-3.1ms g2g. Which makes the MSi the fastest 240hz IPS monitor(tied with the Alienware. I've beaten the g2g average of the MSi to death on these forums so there's no point in explaining it for the 500th time. Measurements 90-10% leeway or 80%(keep this in mind) when measuring G2g. 80% is in my opinion the most accurate measurement(again, it's just my opinion). 100% doesn't tell the whole story

for a point of reference. The two fastest TNs right now is at 2ms g2g(Omen x25f and acer nitro xv272)

a 1ms g2g advantage DOESN'T MATTER AT 240HZ FPS and REFRESH RATE. 240hz refresh rate ALREADY enhances motion clarity, and that 1ms g2g advantage from TN is USELESS AND REDUNDANT at 240hz. 240hz is an exceptio nto every dogmatic rulebook based off of those UFO tests because that high of a frame rate and refresh rate make input lag and motion clarity GOOD enough to the point where any form of ghosting (there is none at 240hz bcuz the monitor is refreshing so fast for anyone to notice) is extremely difficult to see.

Does anyone take this guy seriously anymore? I honestly recommend you go make an appointment with an optometrist because you are either blatantly trolling or have some serious medical issues with your eyes. I'm not even joking with you right now.

I will also upload my new copy of motion blur test on the MAG251RX, I think I have better camera, watch it in 1080p , watch in fullscreen and wait for good focus, its still not same quality, but its very very similar like you could see in reality
