nVidia really has to fix the double image problem between 100-200 FPS. This is the most used range in games...

For now, you can create a .bat file that switches to 60hz and turns G-Sync off. Quicker than using the OSD.
You can use the nVidia App or nvInspectorProfile to force Games in "fixed refresh rate" mode. And as long as games allow to change the Hz of the display there is nothing else to do. Works fantastic with G-Sync.

we should implore nvidia to enable this feature natively through the nvidia app. Being able to set per game profiles would be easy since most of the flags are already there! I know their G assist AI tool already takes voice commands to turn on/off pulsar, so we already know nvidia has a flag somewhere to turn on/off pulsar, they just need to give us the option to set "display max refresh" per game, we already have the ability to change Gsync per game to "fixed" so that would change it from Gsync to ULMB per game.

I like the idea. I already have a registry switch placed on my desktop for turning EnableTiledisplay on and off in case I want to use 360 Hz. Do you have a batch example for switching refresh rate & switching gsync on/off available? Asking GPT the answer is its not possible without using Nv Profile Inspector (and then start a certain profile via batch) or other tools like QRes.

So new firmware makes pulsar more unstable and only really improves 60htz ulmb? How is this a win for pulsar?

The current firmware wasn't a win for Pulsar mode, we are waiting for Nvidia to fix it, they are aware.

Apologies -- I am busy on a different top secret project -- I can only battle so many Blur Busting battles simultaneously.

New public win, I convinced Microsoft to add 5000 Hz support (www.blurbusters.com/5000hz) but I have too many battles going on right now to even look at the pulsar firmware upgrade that I tipped the domino on.

I am happy that this Blur Busters battlefront was won (in teamwork with others like Digital Foundry), in convincing our favourite neighborhood multitrillion dollar company on Planet Earth to become a 60Hz ally, and has earned them karma points on massive improvements to Pulsar. With all the path tracing goodness we want (and sometimes we love DLSS framegen, while others hate it) sometimes 60fps is all we have, and we totally appreciate the ability to blur bust that via strobe means.

I only wish 60Hz+VRR was possible, but what we got was actually a very decent 60Hz single-strobe effort. It definitely will help their Pulsar sales, as I told them it would -- look at people considering Pulsar now thanks to 60Hz!

Now, I have to keep operating the Wizard of Oz machine, so I'm going back behind the curtain.
Decent 60hz? It looks like the best we've had since CRTs. Is there a better one in the works? More brightness maybe?

I completely agree — the new 60 Hz ULMB2 mode feels like the best 60 Hz strobing we’ve had since CRTs.

I’ve actually moved my HDMI cables from my AW3423DW OLED over to the Pulsar purely for console gaming. The difference in motion clarity at 60 fps is night and day.

There’s a rumoured 32-inch 4K Pulsar model coming out maybe end of this year or start of 2027 — that could be great for consoles. The XG2431 is still excellent, but being stuck at 1080p limits it a bit.

Out of curiosity, what do people think was the best 60 Hz strobing display before this (best combination of clarity, low crosstalk, low flicker, and usable brightness)? I’m wondering if anything previously came close to what Pulsar is doing now at 60 Hz — especially if you’ve owned that display and the new Pulsar.

The only <100Hz options on the market with relatively low duty cycle to accomodate the refresh rate.

My Switch 2 is calling me to play Super Mario Bros Wonder (released today). It must look amazing on this display.
Make sure it's not DRM-locked to NVIDIA GPUs. Some features of the monitor may be locked. (AFAIK, I believe the VRR-Pulsar is, at least).
