Well, that part makes sense, because it's not HDR so wide gamut doesn't matter, and also it doesn't have much crosstalk (last thing you want on a Pulsar display is seeing three images instead of one during motion.)

I find myself capping games to 90 fps using riva just to enjoy gsync pulsar lol, I really hope they fix the firmware to allow me to use a little more refresh to enjoy the low motion blur feature (due to double imaging above 100 hz). Above 200 fps the motion clarity gains are gone and it doesn't look that much better, despite this I would still prefer this monitor over an OLED 540 hz and I like Gsync pulsar over having to fiddle around with fixed strobe and changing refreshes per game (would be bearable if there was an option in nvidia control panel to set display refresh + fixed strobed per game but I guess we aren't advanced enough yet and have to rely on a bunch of batch scripts).

I tried Dynamic multi frame generation today and I was both impressed and disappointed at the same time. Long story short, yes it works but any frame gen above X2 has visual artifacts that are hard to ignore on a pulsar monitor that gets rid of persistence blur so it's easier to identify hud elements smearing or the environment X) I prefer playing low fps with near perfect strobing than frame gen imo.

As funny as this may sound, ULMB2 @ 60Hz may be somewhat usable when paired with Nvidia Fast-Sync in games which run +120FPS
(another way to render Pulsar even more obsolete :D)

I think an updated pros/cons list would be more helpful than just the negatives. I remember seeing a Reflex Latency Analyzer option in the monitor menus (I’ll double-check when I’m home).

Focusing on flaws when paying $700 for a monitor is taking away from the experience? That's a ridiculous thing to say. Pulsar is far from being usable without major caveats and its been primarily thanks to the people in this forum that have tested it for months now that you can minimize its flaws. The new firmware everyone has been waiting for didn't even address what it was supposed to in the first place.

I didn’t say focusing on flaws takes away from the experience. I said that constantly focusing only on the flaws takes away from acknowledging what’s actually good about the monitor.

For context, I was actually one of the people who reported the ghosting/double-image issue at lower frame rates. NVIDIA acknowledged it and confirmed they’re working on a fix, so I’ve contributed in that way too.

I’m not ignoring the remaining issues at all — I just think it’s also fair to recognise the real improvements, especially the 60 Hz ULMB2 mode, which has been a genuine step forward for a lot of people.

Its interesting to see the most "flaws" this display has which bother me the most have nothing at all to do with pulsar strobing.

The flaws regarding the 1% lows with reflex+vsync on which ruin the clarity experience on CS2: Turns out there are tons of discussions on reddit from 540 Hz Oled users complaining about the exact same thing. With similar solutions (using rtss to cap, vsync off etc. i dont want to repeat all of that). If that is not done properly, its a stuttery feeling even with 400 fps also on oled monitors.

I come trom the ASUS IPS WQHD 165hz Gsync display. So I wasnt aware these problems even exist...

The flaws regarding the blackouts on dsc 360 Hz: Yes, its a shame on this price point to deliver a monitor without DP2.1. But most of all its a shame to build RTX cards which cannot handle this 360 Hz signal through one display head... which happens BEFORE its turned into a DSC signal which then goes to the display.
As far as I understood, DSC itself is not even the porblem of the blackouts, it just comes with it. Probably... on rtx50 cards you can also switch to single tile mode via registry and nvcp will still offer you 360 Hz. It will still be DSC then, but it should work fine without any handshake problems. Also that: It is NOT a problem of the pulsar technique. Many ASUS Oled screens suffer from the same thing.

Its very sad they introduced the ghosting between 90-200 fps. That looked really well before if the 1%s were under control. What bothered me before were the double image under 90 fps (even with 110 avg if the lows are bad). This is solved now. Pulsar turns off very well now once the fps are too low.

I dont care about the 60Hz mode, I dont have any consoles. I do everything with emulators.

To me the VRR Pulsar mode looks fantastic as long as the frames pacing is under the same control other high refresh rate oled monitors also need to be. And its Not just looking amazing on CS2. Especially on retro games like Duke Nukem, Blood, Spaghett Kart, Quake II etc. Its absolutely flawless, sharp and clear.

What I am praying for with the next fw update: Fix all the ghosting fps "zones". This has to look as with the initial firmware without any double images below 75.
If possible, add a 300 Hz mode to pulsar. It is possible to run the display without DSC without tiling on 300 Hz. If thats also possible with pulsar, we are nearly there.
In general: Why are 240 and 120 Hz modes (obviously) using tiled display signal + dsc? Or why are all the DSR modes gone when lowering the refresh rates? Why are there still (very short) alt+tab blackouts on 240 Hz?
It feels so much better when this is switched off, why can this not be a standard which the driver prefers once the signal allows it? I assume that is a Nvidia driver problem rather than a FW problem.

Would be interesting to see how other 360 Hz monitors deal with this...

Lots of negativity in here lately. I'll just keep enjoying Crimson Desert with near-perfect motion clarity at 320fps with 6x DMFG and Ray Reconstruction with maxed out settings. And only 40ish ms total system latency.

It just works. Couldn't be happier with this monitor. Message me if you're interested in my settings.

What are the best detailed settings for avoiding VSync while using 60 Hz mode on PC? I’ve tried both Special K and RTSS but I can’t get the tearing line right — I’m definitely doing something wrong.

Frame rates that go above or below 60 FPS introduce stutter or tearing. Staying above 60 is easy even with path tracing on my 5080, but getting it perfectly smooth is a pain.

I really want to bring the latency down. Right now VSync pushes it all the way up to 77 ms, while I can hit roughly 40-50 ms using Dynamic Multi Frame Generation x6 to get ~350 FPS. The only downside is some frame-gen artifacts and the image feeling a little softer to me. I want to try a true no-VSync setup so I can compare both side by side. Pulsar stays smooth in this scenario.

Any up-to-date, step-by-step advice on the exact RTSS Scanline Sync or Special K Latent Sync settings that actually work for a hard 60 FPS lock at 60 Hz would be great.

Your best bet is enabling fast sync in NVCP (or through Special K, see below) when using latent sync (or RTSS scanline sync) at 60Hz. Or in any situation where FPS matches Hz. With fast sync, you should try and have the (now invisible tearline) somewhere in the middle of the screen. At 1440p, targeting scanline 500 or so should do the trick. This provides good latency and avoids motion hiccups. Do that before enabling fast sync so you can actually see the tearline.

Fast sync does a really nice job of preventing tearing without using actual vysnc on the frame presentation of the game, meaning it completely gets rid of vsync backpressure lag.

If you use the "delay bias" setting of latent sync to lower input lag, you can get a lot of hiccups with fast sync when GPU load is low (which can happen easily at 60FPS with fast GPUs.) This is because the GPU clocks down and the delay bias feature doesn't leave the GPU a lot of time to render the frame in very small amount of time. You can enable Reflex boost mode in SK in that case (just "nothing but boost" without actual Reflex will do, unless you do want Reflex as well) to force high GPU clocks at all times. Using delay bias like this can reduce input lag quite drastically at 60FPS. ("Delay bias" in general helps the most at lower refresh rates because the frame times are high so shaving off a percentage of that frame time means a large latency reduction.)

To enable fast sync in SK, right click the "g-sync" or "variable refresh rate" text at the top of SK's UI (where the resolution is shown) and check the fast sync checkbox, which will set it in the game's nvidia driver profile so you won't have to deal with NVCP or profile inspector. Restart the game.
