Sharing everything I tried so far..

Post by kironashi973 » 09 Nov 2022, 08:37

I'm not an expert I'm just here to share all the tweaks I've seen so far on the internet.

On windows :

1. Power plan to high performance

2. USB selective suspend to disabled

3. windows accelerated gpu on enabled

4. set your monitor refresh rate to the highest

5. Disable windows transparency effects

6. Disable HPET in devices manager

7. Install chipset driver from your motherboard website ( this one change the overall feeling of my games)

8. Type "exploit protection" in windows search bar and disable "Control Flow Guard (CFG),"

9. Keyboard repeat rate to fast and repeat delay on short

10. try messing with nvidia settings by enabling vsync fast, and gsync on your monitor

11. reinstall windows and use Display driver unistaller DDU

12 . disable or enable game mode

13. windows search bar type : Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security
top right corner the first one in the list called "windows firewlall blabla"
right click it then "properties" you should see domain profil, private profil and public profil click on "customize" in the settings part for all 3 of them and put "no" in allow unicast response

14. try changing paging files in windows

15 . type msconfig windows search bar in the second menu called "start" or smth like that select advanced settings, and put the max for number of processors then apply

16 . disable filter keys

17 . use the DISM command line tool : DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

18 . Fsutil behavior set memoryusage 2 in cmd

19. in Control Panel \ Hardware and Sound \ Power Options \ System Settings disable "fast startup"

20. Type "Privacy" in Search Windows. and set everything to off

21. gpedit.msc and hit enter.
In Local Group Policy Editor navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> One Drive
On the right side click on 'Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage' and set it to Enable and Apply.

22. In Local Group Policy Editor navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> All Settings and find 'Allow Telemetry' on the right side.
Double click on 'Allow Telemetry' and set it to Disabled and Apply.

23. try foxos or revios

Network tricks :
1. try changing your ethernet cable to a cat6 minimum
2. try disabling interrupt moderation in your network card in device manager
3. disable network recovery in control panel

regedit/windows weird tricks :

1. access system 32 files and find a way to rename Gamebarpresencewriter or you can also do it on regedit.

2. mess with keyboarddataqueuessize and mousedataqueuesizes ( I don't like this one tbh just make you feel different without being better but a lot of fornite kids use it so why not)

3. in regedit : Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\
right click new select key, name that key using the game exe name : nameofthegame.exe
after making that key right click it and create a new key call it : PerfOptions
right click perf options and new select dword 32 bits and call it : CpuPriorityClass
open the DWORD
change the data value to 3

4. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
“DelayedAckFrequency”=dword:00000001
“DelayedAckTicks”=dword:00000001
“CongestionAlgorithm”=dword:00000001

sofware tricks :
1.install msi utility v3 or v2 idk and set what you can set in msi mode
2. install rivatuner statistic server and set up scanline sync and then add vsync fast on nvdia (can find a tutorial on youtube)
3. use ISLC standby list cleaner thingy
4. use timer resolution
5. use TCP optimizer
6. try exitlag or haste

bios tricks : ( i don't even remember what settings are for amd or intel)
- enable xmp or docp
- disable turbo boost
- disable c state
- enable 4G decoding
- disable NX and pss support ( I only found one post for this one and it kinda worked for me )
- disable cpu virtualization
- put ram command rate to 1T
- enable L1 and L2 prefetcher
- Disable or enable spread spectrum
- Disable or enable HPET if you have it idk
- Disable or enable SMT
- try different ram frequency
- Try disabling core performance boost
- Try disable precision boost overdrive
- disable fast boot
- PCI GEN speed to gen 3

Basically it's a list of things I tried but most of them didn't work, all the information was taken from reddit thread or youtube
I didn't add everything it would take too much time but if I'm not lazy I will
I am making this post to give some clues to some people and maybe help them

It will probably be a government spyware virus, for those who disagree with the current world agenda. There is no solution to this problem. I have this problem in LAN's when I don't even play with my own computer, just with my steam and a few computer components like a mouse etc. Another steam account doesn't help either. I have this problem for many years and there is no solution. Just forget competitive gaming.

I did like 50 LANs, i just travelled ALL THE EUROPE, i was a progamer, and trust me. In different location if u are lucky THE GAME IS TOTALLY SMOOTH, so isnt true that there isnt a fix. Is of course something on electricity or internet congestion. Real problem is that after all these years we cannot find the solution, but just think about it: If i have problem in morning/afternoon/evening AND THEN in night time it just work as it should be, of course there is a issue... is all about emi? is all about electrical grid congestion? i dont know. But every night i can play as it should be

Yeah for me games are smooth only at night time so i first though it was a network problem but even when i unplug the ethernet cable it work the same slow when it's the day and fast at night
So yeah basically nothing we can do about it

if you have offline lag only during daytime, the case is pretty clear.

Yeah I thought there’s no fix for this after buying different components, trying 7 locations in my city and around 4 net cafes, 6 accounts, 5-6 ISP , all bios all windows tweaks, different windows versions, different Linux operating systems. The lag was there, sometimes less, sometimes no lag for 1-3 hours but alwaysss comes back.

But recently I tried a different net cafe but very far away from city centre. And low and behold, even tho the computer and monitors are somewhat old and bad, the performance was around 80% better in hit reg, mouse control and overall lag feeling. I played for 7 hours without things getting worse. I used the mouse that was available there and even tho it’s 140g heavy it felt way lighter than my 60g mouse that I used to play at home and other net cafes that exist in city.

The issue isn’t related to just electricity, it’s also related to isp/net congestion and this one is really impossible to fix. So like we said many times, the best effective solution is to try different locations (net cafes) until u found one playable and go there to play if you want to have some fun.

Otherwise simply stop playing at home or trying to fix it in your current location cuz it’s not worth money time energy.

Reminder:
EMI discussion is not allowed in this forum. Discuss EMI in that other forum (Rare Issues Forum).

OP, if you would like me to move this thread, let me know. However, it is a rule of thumb to exhaust non-EMI discussion first.

It's certainly possible that these are interference related ("interference" means the same thing as "EMI", they are essentially synonyms)
