Does BenQ XL2720Z turn ON when plugged? [RESOLVED: Yes]

Post by 7n7 » 01 Aug 2014, 10:29

Hi!

I'm planning to buy a BenQ XL2720Z monitor. I have two other (standard 60 Hz) monitors and I want to plug all three of them in the same electrical extension so I can turn them on and off with a single button. Can you confirm that the BenQ XL2720Z monitor turns ON when plugged if it was ON when previously unplugged? I reckon every monitor should work that way but I just would like to be sure before buying... =]

It uses electronic touch button controls, so it can be either way. Let me do a test with my XL2720Z later this weekend (it is currently put aside while I am testing a few monitors).

Thanks Chief!

Just to be sure you understand me, here's the test I would like someone to do:
  • Make sure the monitor is on.
  • Unplug it from the power supply.
  • Plug it back (maybe after some time, like 30 seconds...)
  • Does it automatically turn on or do you have to press the ON button?
Thanks again!

The answer is yes:
-- It remembers the Blur Reduction setting.
-- It automatically powers on when plugged in.

It automatically turns on when it was unplugged for more than a week during a move.
I also unplugged my XL2720Z suddenly for 5 seconds, and plugged it back in. It does display the BENQ logo on-screen for a few seconds (though I think that can be turned off via the Service Menu).
