I'm reading through some of the posts on this website, and am trying to figure out how to add some lag to my ethernet adapter.
I'm not really sure the best way.
I've tried for about 3 years to optimize my ethernet adapter on anti-lag, but realize my wifi...is faster than my ethernet adapter.
I'm not sure what is happening.
I've had 2 different motherboards.
The GPU seems good with the clean driver install.
For me , 95% of my issue with online gaming is network latency or server issues.
I only learned about symmetric packetdelay from this website, so I'm hoping to find a good answer.
If there's something better than this packetdelay, then I'd like to know as well, but this sounds like my issue since I know this issue is pretty much not ping or speed tests, but my synchronization with the game servers.

What if you use a VPN? That would create a delay.

Hi, The VPN does help sometimes but not really, I think I'm experiencing the lottery thing where it is inconsistent.
Sometimes when I try WIFI it is more stable than my Ethernet.
Sometimes when I select 100mbps as the speed it helps instead of auto/1 Gbps.
But I have not found anything substantial that relates to all games I play, and I usually lose what I think is the fix when another server game comes and crushes my internet setup.
I tried the "clumsy" packet delay in hopes of the symmetric packet delay I heard about hear. It doesn't seem to allow the game to load.
Game of Choice: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019.
Sometimes the game works better at 128 receive/transmit or ipv6 off, but sometimes it seems none of that really matters.
I currently am not sure what I need to do to have fun consistent jitter stabilization.
Jitter says 1ms on tests, but I'm not feeling this benefit in-game.
the setup: Xfinity Gateway (standard router/modem joined) wired to computer.
LTE power is a bit too weak in my area.
I'm really hoping there is something I haven't thought of.
Unfortunately , I don't have the capability to test out the openwrt thing for routers . family home, no way to have the general wifi internet suffer for family. and not my home.
I hope Chief Blur Buster may have an idea, i'm pretty confused at this point with my setup.

I can say that the Atlas OS helps for system latency, but my bottleneck is somewhere in the network adapter/ISP/server setup/network area.

Do you have optical fibre?
Do you have intel or realtek ethernet card?
If you have realtek you should buy intel pcie ethernet card and try with that. Just disable your LAN card from bios and you are ready to go.
If you have intel then you should buy realtek pcie ethernet card and try with that.
Also check your ethernet cable is it cat6 or older? you should upgrade to cat8 since it has best shielding which affects EMI and EMI means LAG.
