Hello everyone

In attempts to write to the EDID of the BenQ XL2546K through both HDMI & DisplayAdapter I get failed to write. I've tried enabling burn-in mode through the monitor, and trying again (no luck). So I start looking into the hardware lightboost mod, and was wondering if that's the same thing that is happening to me. I disassembled the monitor, and found this chip, and the data that goes to said chip. If I cut the the Write Protect Input would that allow me to overwrite the EDID of the monitor?

While I cannot comment on whether this will work, or on this monitor, or whether it will DAMAGE this model monitor -- I can confirm that EDID write-protect pins are a common cause of EDID hacks not being able to be installed directly into the monitor hardware.

Be very careful if you do this. Always backup your original EDIDs!

Well, I cut the leg, monitor works still. But still unable to write to the EDID of the monitor.

So the next question is, is it because i'm using a 4000 series GPU and I need an older one to do this correctly?
