Monitor ability to withstand heat.

Post by BlurMonita » 07 May 2025, 07:15

what makes certain monitors, able to withstand a very high Typical brightness? I mean, it emits more heat. is it solely better heatsink? or do they just push the components to the edge in benefit of higher brightness?

e.g Xiaomi G Pro 27i , it can withstand typical SDR brightness of 773 CD/sqMeter

it has rtings review if you wanna see btw.

Thanks!

Here's what I think

・The G Pro 27i is a display equipped with mini LEDs. Mini LEDs have a large number of LEDs placed directly under the LCD. This arrangement has excellent light extraction efficiency and can extract a large amount of light with less power compared to typical edge-placed LEDs. This means that it will be brighter than an edge-placed display with the same amount of power.

・The G Pro 27i supports high-brightness image technologies such as HDR10. Most HDR displays have a small electric fan built in, which provides forced air cooling. It is unclear whether the G Pro 27i actually has an electric fan, but I would like to suggest this as a reason for achieving high brightness.
