Sync failure in 1 of 4 monitors...

Post by Sherezade » 25 May 2025, 16:54

Hey everyone!

I recently set up a triple monitor setup:

Center: BenQ EX2780Q

Left & right: BenQ EX2710Q

Top a xl2411 1080 60hz

I was testing things out and decided to run TestUFO, just for fun… and surprise: the left monitor shows this error:

> SYNC FAILURE:
Move all apps and browser windows to primary monitor #1.

Now here’s the thing:
I don’t notice any actual problems while using the monitors. Everything feels smooth, and I use Premiere Pro for editing, so I’d probably have noticed tearing or weird behavior. But of course — now that I’ve seen the error, I can’t ignore it anymore.

I’ve literally tried everything:

Set the EX2780Q as the main monitor

Matched refresh rates (all at 144Hz)

Swapped cables (using DisplayPort for all)

Tested in Chrome, Edge, fullscreen, nothing running in the background, all the usual tricks

And still... that “Sync Failure” message pops up on that monitor.

Honestly, if I hadn’t opened TestUFO, I’d be happily editing away. But now my brain is like: “FIX IT.”

Any ideas? Is this just a TestUFO quirk or something I should worry about?

Thanks in advance!
