Why AI tells that FPS has not affect on Network ?

Everything about latency. This section is mainly user/consumer discussion. (Peer-reviewed scientific discussion should go in Laboratory section). Tips, mouse lag, display lag, game engine lag, network lag, whole input lag chain, VSYNC OFF vs VSYNC ON, and more! Input Lag Articles on Blur Busters.

Why AI tells that FPS has not affect on Network ?

Post by themagic » 29 Oct 2025, 05:12

Just a question and what I want know...

Like i tried google and find no logical real answer...

But AI tells that FPS has no affect on your Network and Ping...

And in reality what i see is that:

that FPS has affect and if uncaped and in some game like Valorant as example...has affect and it becomes unstable to spike and lag happens...

Like im crazy ? Or just stupid ?

Cause i have this Problems and as soon I cap my FPS to 120 then suddenly my Ping spikes start to stop...

Higher FPS increases CPU usage. Network is handled by the CPU so it can have an effect. Also, some game engines can act weird at extremely high frame rates. The thing to realize here is that games are products. They are sold by a business and what they do is put a viable product out there. Not a perfect product. Just a viable one.

Why are you relying on AI for any actual information? It isn't a person, it isn't knowledgeable. The blind faith people have in AI and how fast they developed it is terrifying. Never trust the info it spits out.

Anything can be tied to the fps. It depends how the game developer implemented the features. The best you can do is ask on the community help forums for each individual game. Maybe a dev or more knowledgeable player will get you the right info.

AI isn't going to give you the correct answer. It's guessing what you're trying to ask, and then guessing what sources are the best answer, then translating that back. AI doesn't know what you mean by network and ping. Do you mean routers and the speed of light? Do you mean the network stack on your PC? Do you mean the total latency from mouse click to seeing the server's response? It doesn't know. Even if it did, it's still relying on the same garbage search results you see on Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, etc.

Two different PCs connected to the same router, to the same server. The ping of one PC is 56 ms, the ping of the other PC is 36 ms. The values can vary from one PC to the other. Also, if there is packet loss on one PC, the other PC shows no loss at all. How can this be explained?
also, bf6 puts a lot of strain on your PC, leading to loss of INCOMING packets, which can be resolved by capping fps.
