night time gamers only

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

night time gamers only

Post by jeffeh12133 » 02 Feb 2026, 02:06

pc feels snappy always after 5-8pm every single day. for the past 6 years ive noticed this. i'm not trash either so it's very perceivable. super obvious too (display looks clearer, mouse moves smoother and faster). i stop playing until around that time just to ensure it feels like this.

i hate this inconsistency. it's a 2010 apartment too so the wires aren't trash or anything.

using a online double-conversion solved the input lag aspect of it, but things look and feel so smooth at night time only.

any other night owls here?

i live in california, USA

Many new 2010s apartments still have shared neutrals...nothing you can do about it, welcome to the club. Less people in apartment using electricity at night = snappy smooth PC.

It’s still lucky imo, I would be happy if I could play without any problems 5-8 pm to the morning, really. I would be happy af. I couldn’t play 24/7
