Which Monitor ? [Q]

Post by raiden » 06 Nov 2014, 09:29

Ok guys i'm kind of confused with all these different models of monitors.

I'm looking for a good FPS monitor that can give me the lowest input lag as possible, which monitor will I be after?

I was looking at the XL24020g, with shipping it costs me around $750~

price being said is there any other alternative for XL2420g ?

I decided to get XL2420z however I saw XL2411z What are the differences? as in, is the internal hardware different or the LCD panel? Do they both produce same amount of input lag ?

Also can you have both Lighboost enabled with Gsync?

price over performance is it worth getting the XL24020g over a XL2411z ?

Are there known issues with XL2411z or XL2420z (that should be avoided) ? Please enlighten me.

Cheers.

2411Z does not have displayport.
2411Z doesn't have the S-switch (rather handy)
They're the exact panel, so no differences in performance

Same panel.

At the same time? No, but the Z series monitors don't have G-Sync anyway.

The XL2420G is so expensive that it makes more sense to get an Asus Rog Swift (real 8bit colors, 1440p, G-Sync), paying a bit more. Unless you need blur reduction at any refresh rate, like 60Hz, and also want G-Sync.
In my opinion, it's not worth the cost over a XL2411z. I "can't" play without motion blur reduction. However, the Z series monitor have a drawback: overdrive artifacts.

ULMB in G-Sync monitors should be better in this respect.

Edit: this is with Lightboost:

Sweet thank you all. I guess i'll be just happy with a xl2420/11 z + lightboost enabled.

It's going to be a great upgrade from an old 60hz monitor.
