PG27UCDM 24.5" Mode Issues

I just got a PG27UCDM and I am trying to use the 24.5" 3552x1998 mode but it feels more delayed / laggy. It feels like I am playing at 60Hz or worse despite getting 200+ fps. Also the alt tabbing takes forever, like 10 seconds or so even with a DP2.1 80 cable and DSC disabled. Switching back to the regular 27" 4K mode fixes these issues. Is there anything I can do to get the 24.5" '4K' mode running better?
