Adapter d-sub input lag

In some local pc website I found test claiming that for new graphic cards with only digital connections - without direct vga d-sub connection, there is added significant input lag when using crt monitor by d-sub adapter in gfx card. Whatmore they show that faster lcd (120-144hz, they tested Benq z model) show smaller input lag than crt by d-sub adapter.
Is it true?

edit: sorry, input lag category would better suit this topic..

it depends on the implementation of the dac. it could be laggy or not laggy

comparing clocks at the center of the screen is not a valid way to precisely measuring input lag if the outputs are not sync'd (which is rarely the case).

here's a quite technical article concerning this stuff
