Hey there!
I'm not that much into the Monitor game and don't know if companys show everything they release in a year on the conventions at the beginning of a year.
Therfore, I'm aiming to buy eighter a few 390X or 980Ti at the end of the summer. Currently the 16:9, WQHD, G-Sync, IPS, 144Hz monitor is the best on the market that almost fit all my needs. But if I am buying a Monitor I would like that it lastt for a huge amount of time. Therfore I would like to see a 21:9. Eighter with the same speccs as the Acer one or with just 60Hz or a bit higher. I never had a 120Hz - 144Hz screen so I don't know what I'm missing.
Now I have a few questions.
First of all, is there anything announced? I've seen a 144Hz, 21:9, G-Sync monitor announcement by Acer at the beginning of this year (XR341CK) but I don't know if it is IPS or not. I also hope that Acer will produce that one in a non curved version ..
My next question is, will it be possible to drive the difference between 16:9 and 21:9 still with a higher amount of Hz than 60 while keeping the responsetime reasonable? (lower than 5) ?
Edit: IPS is the "minimum" I would like to have. Something better is always welcome. As I mentioned, I don't really need more than 60Hz. Im more a "sight seeing" gamer.
Any chances to see a 21:9, WQHD, G-Sync, IPS monitor 2015?

the acer xr341ck will be the new AHVA = or IPS with TN response times
just like the already released xb270hu; so it will probably (not confirmed) also have ULMB
id def go with the xr341ck if you can afford it... 144hz is amazing, even if you are just a sightseer + the gsync + 21:9 ips 1440p... its the perfect monitor

Actually found a problem that comes with it. Recording the desktop for livestreaming and so on will keep 21:9 resolution. I somewhat thought that it would be able to resize it or something like that but thas kinda a turnoff for me I guess. Not many people own a 21:9 screen and 16:9 with black bars could look pretty meh. Even if I don't understand why I have to get black bars rather then just be able to resize the whole video since the black bars are actually what I would like to do <.<. Since the horizontal resolution is still 1440p and the vertical is just a bit "widther" it shouldn't be a problemEdmond wrote:the acer xr341ck will be the new AHVA = or IPS with TN response times

Anyways, do you have an idea when it will be released? Informations in the Internet just sayd 2. Q of 2015 but ye since it is just a bit less than 2 months, more informations would be great. Kinda scarry that there wasn't any new inforamtion in the past 4 months since the release of the news.
I found this on overclock.net
"Altrough I think it might be 1080p as 3440x1440@144Hz would exceed bandwidth needed by 2560x1440 and that already needed overclocked g-sync module."
"Yeah you are right. It cant be 1440p because DP cant support that unless its the new version."
