They are both basically the exact same in XL2420G's "Z" mode, as long as you set the black equalizer to 0 on XL2430T if you are using this monitor instead (this is black equalizer 2.0 which is available in standard mode and is a huge downgrade from the old black equalizer which just affected gamma on dark shades). For XL2420G in "Z" mode, preferred is use standard mode, blur reduction, 120hz, contrast 40, brightness 100, Vertical total 1500 tweak, adjust strobe duty and strobe phase (service menu) to your liking.
XL2420's Gsync mode has gsync and CS:Go can easily maintain framerate=refresh rate so you won't need gsync; just use 120hz blur reduction, Vertical Total (VT) 1500 tweak with AMD/Nvidia pixel clock patcher (not needed over Displayport), and of you go...

I would not recommend the xl2430t. I just got one and it has been a huge hassle, colors out of the box are terrible and to get brightness to an acceptable level required a lot of time and research, I think I'm jsut goiing to return mine and go for a 2420

For XL2430T, turn the digital vibrance up or down 1 notch from the default. Default value is incorrect.
Set black equalizer 2.0 to "0".
