xl2730z vs Zowie 2730
xl2730z vs Zowie 2730
Anyone know the differences between the two? The Zowie version is $50 USD more. I know there is the supposedly better XL2735 but no Freesync so Im not ready to consider it yet.

Re: xl2730z vs Zowie 2730
I was wondering this too. They both have Freesync and are same in every way except this I think. "With feedback from professional eSports teams, we redesigned the Zowie line by changing the monitor bezel to a matte dark grey; this absorbs reflection from their environment, reducing glare from the screen. Additionally, the updated packaging provides portability and a better unboxing experience." So the bezel is just different color no new firmware or anything else I think. http://www.benq.com/product/gaminggears ... /features/ at the bottom some info.

Re: xl2730z vs Zowie 2730
They're the exact same. Besides the bezel differences. There will also be a firmware update to change the logo from Benq to Zowie. The XL2430T had the same firmware "update." Don't expect any 100hz strobe fix or 60hz strobing either.
What I want to know is if the XL2735 expanded the strobe refresh rates and fixed the broken strobe features or not.
I'm willing to bet that you can flash the firmware into an XL2730Z. I'll eat a cow if Benq actually changed the panel or the internal circuitry.

Zowie XL2730 on order for Tuesday delivery. If anyone wants to know any information like firmware, panel info or other please let me know.
I do wish there was a stripped down version of it. I dont need all those inputs.

Re: xl2730z vs Zowie 2730
I definitely want to know about it.
I want to know if the "Single Strobe" service menu option has been added.
Also if it can strobe at 100hz without going out of sync and stuttering (due to it using 120hz phase timings).
maybe I should wait for a XL2735Z owner to test that though
The service and factory menus are accessed identically to the XL2720Z.
(service menu: soft power off, hold button #4 for 5+ seconds when powering on).
(Factory menu: soft power off, then hold buttons 3 and 4 for 5+ seconds when powering on).

Is there any real review about Xl2735 out yet? The monitor is available at benq store. http://shop.benq.eu/store/bqeu/en_GB/pd ... 5059463100
Re: xl2730z vs Zowie 2730
Panel: AUOM270DTN0 1.0
Scaler: RealTek 2796B
Firmware: V00320160314
No option for single strobe. Having some problems getting into the factory menu. Will update this post when I get more info.
Confirmed 8 bit panel. Excellent uniformity.

Re: xl2730z vs Zowie 2730
The XL2720Z entry codes work for the XL2730Z.

Getting into the factory menu doesn't work from an AC unplug power on. The monitor has to be powered on first, then powered off by the power button. Then you can do the button 3+4 trick.
Does 100hz strobing work without syncing to 120hz and stuttering?

Got into the factory menu. You have to press exit to make it come up after holding the buttons. No stobe options there either and unfortunately 100hz strobing makes the ufo test look terrible.Falkentyne wrote:The XL2720Z entry codes work for the XL2730Z.

Just as I figured. It's the XL2730Z V002 with a name change.
Welp, I guess now we wait for the XL2735 ?
