The framerate meters you have are implemented before the GPU, so they won't show you fluctuation in frame time caused by different frames taking different amounts of time to render.

I'm here to inquire about this matter as well. It is causing some stuttering effects in every game I play[Dota 2, CS, Quake, OW].

Sparky, I understand enough of your reply to know I don't understand how to arrive at a solution. Would you please offer some advice?

I'm playing on a XL 2420g with Gsync on and frames capped at 141 in all games. I've tried varying this as well but to no effect.

One thing that might be helpful and perhaps is the same for shurhand; frequently I see it drop to about 133 at the lowest and will spike back up to above my limit of 141 or 140 all the way to 142 or maybe 143(not sure about this one).

Appreciate any help the forum can offer.

Oh.... Multimonitor.

Especially mixed-brand / mixed-sync / mixed-Hz multimonitor.

The bane of high-Hz glitching, "stuck at 60Hz", & mysterious input-lag problems.

Download and use DisplayFusion to easily disable/reenable secondary monitors. That way, you can do competitive/eSports on solo monitor, then hot a hotkey to go back to multimonitor when back to Windows.

When I switch the monitor to classic mode it does not have this problem.

If WIN+P works -- use it. It helps for the simple situations for many users.

However, WIN+P is much more simplistic.

Sometimes I want to use my secondary monitor as my primary monitor, or vice versa. Win+P alone can't do that. Other times I want to switch between 3-monitor surround mode versus 1-monitor mode. Win+P alone can't do that. Yet other times, I want to use monitor #1 as solo, or monitor #2 as solo, or monitor #3 as solo, or #1+2 only, or #2+3 only, or all #1+2+3. Win+P alone can't do that. You know, I'm Blur Busters, and that means I've got random monitors on my desk.

True, in complex scenarios WIN + P is not enough.
I use a triple monitor setup, consisting of a XL2540, a AW2518HF and a S2716DG.
My regular monitor ist the XL2540, which I use for competitive gaming.
The S2716DG is for singleplayer games which benefit from the higher resolution and GSync.
I got the AW2518HF pretty cheap (even cheaper than the cheapest 144hz monitor), which is just an additional monitor for multitasking.
Therefore I either use the XL2540 alone or the S2716DG alone or all together and WIN + P works like a charm for that .
I also tried playing on one screen with the others still enabled and could not detect any problems, but to be on the save side and reducing the electricity bill I disable the other two.

I have another question: Why do multiple monitors with different refresh rates tend to cause issues? How are multiple monitors handled if they have different resolutions and refresh rates? Is there a framebuffer for each monitor and where is the problematic point?
