240hz, Normal amount of motion blur?
240hz, Normal amount of motion blur?
Hi. I have the PG258Q and was wondering exactly how clear should 240hz be in motion? Using the testufo ghosting test it seems to match screenshots from reviewers but in game just moving my mouse left to right its insanely blurry. I'm not expecting CRT like motion clarity but what I'm seeing can't be what 240hz @ 300+ fps should be like.
Other info:
Monitor is running at 240hz
Normal OD
300+ fps in game
Tried with gsync at 230fps
Motion blur off in game
Tested in Overwatch, Quake, and Kovaak's.
Mouse at 1000hz

Re: 240hz, Normal amount of motion blur?
it should not be insanely blurry at all.
can you give an example of how it looks on the ufo test at 1920 speed with no stars?
it really sounds like you're not getting good results. it could be maybe the pg258q is just not a good 240hz monitor.

Any kind of fast movement is still gonna be a blur man. That's how it is even on 240hz.

that looks like you have elmb enabled with a weird overdrive setting.
it should not look like that with elmb off or your overdrive set to something middle / normal

Nope, just 240hz with overdrive set to normal. What should it look like?oof_oof wrote:that looks like you have elmb enabled with a weird overdrive setting.

Re: 240hz, Normal amount of motion blur?
it should look crisp with no double ufo even at that high speed of 1920. maybe the pg258q just is not great. i have never tried one
