Monitor selection

Post by Pekou » 31 Jan 2021, 06:29

Hello everyone,

I am going to buy a monitor for my laptop (MSI GP72 Leopard Pro) and from my research, i have come to these 2 models:
1. MSI Optix G27C5 Curved Gaming Monitor 27" FHD 165Hz
2. Samsung C27RG50 Curved Gaming Monitor 27" FHD 240Hz

My laptop has nvidia graphics card.
Which one do you think is better to buy?
Thank you in advance

What are your priorities with a gaming monitor?

I want to be sure that curved VA panels is the right panel choice for the right purposes.

I usually play fps games (I know TN panels are the best for fps games) but i also want a monitor that i can work on it. I looking something like a ''hybrid'' monitor both good in fps games and also with good colors and angles,so i can have it for work and movies. This is the reason i have come to the decision of a VA curved panel. I not an expert but from what i have read these are the panels that suit my needs best and also are in my price range.
Please correct me if i'm wrong.
Any advice is really appreciated and welcomed!

Sounds like you want an IPS panel, not VA.

Thank you for the answer!
So you suggest an IPS panel. I found those 3.
MSI Optix MAG274R Gaming Monitor 27" FHD 144Hz
Viewsonic XG2705 Gaming Monitor 27" FHD 144Hz
Gigabyte G27F Gaming Monitor 27" FHD 144Hz
Which one do you think i should for? Or do you have any other suggestions for IPS monitors under 300?

Don't get 27" 1080p. The pixel density will be bad.
