Monitor Recommendations

Post by Nobody245 » 14 Aug 2021, 13:44

First and foremost, I absolutely love the work you do here at Blur Busters, thank you.

I am currently gaming on my Asus PG348Q, which I love, but lately I've been thinking that I want to upgrade to a monitor with the latest technologies. However, i have a very hard time choosing.

Ideally, I want the monitor to be a G-Sync monitor, with reasonable HDR, low motion blur, a high refresh rate (120hz or more) and 1ms response time. IPS panel preferably, but not mandatory. I am willing to spend money on it, provided the price tag isn't insane.

Preferably, I would like to stay in the 3440x1440 resolution, since I love ultrawide and the resolution is also a nice sweet spot between 2K and 4K.

Asus recently released a new monitor, the XG349C, it seems like a good, reasonably priced upgrade, but I haven't seen any articles on Blur Busters regarding it. What do you think about it?

I have also considered the PG35VQ, but that one seems somewhat overpriced (it's very hard for me to justify to myself spending 2.5K+taxes on a gaming monitor). Also, I'm somewhat scared of the reports regarding noisy fans.

Could you recommend any other good 3440x1440 monitors that would incorporate most if not all of the modern technologies?

I could also consider moving away from ultrawide, although I am somewhat cautious of 4K since I prefer higher FPS to higher resolutions and I will have to sacrifice graphics quality at 4K, even though my PC can handle 4K since I bought an RTX 3090 (don't shame me... 3080 are still impossible to buy, so I bought a 3090 when I had the chance...) and I run an i9-10900K.

Would the Asus PG43UQ be a good choice? What about the PG32UQ or PG32UQX (although the price of the last one is absolutely insane, so I doubt I will buy it).

Could you recommend any other good 4K monitors that would incorporate most if not all of the modern technologies?

I know they are all Asus, I've always had a good experience with Asus products, thus they are my first choice, but I am willing to consider other brands as well, Acer, LG, etc...

I would really appreciate any help/ideas, I can't make a decision at all...
