About floaty feeling:
If you have floaty feeling you can try to lower your dpi. From 1600 to 800
I was playing 10 years ago with 800 dpi without floaty feeling. Then i heard that 1600 dpi have less delay and start using it. Since i change it to 1600 my mouse felt floaty but i didn't think that high ...

This could be Wifi bufferbloat. You didn't state which version of OpenWrt you're using so I can't say for sure. Check out Question 5.3 in the Bufferbloat FAQs (I can't post links as a new user. Google for them)
How far are you from the router? Speeds decrease and latency increases as you move ...

I have Archer C6 router with openwrt
Via SSH on my router i ping google servers while testing my speed on speedtest and results are ~ 50ms. Super stable.
BUT when i ping google servers via cmd on my PC while using speedtest my results are awful. It jumps from 50 to 90 to 120 to 50 to 60 to 90 and so ...

-I guess you havent much experience with inteupts affinity/policies yet so id research it a bit before you change anything as you can easily make performance worse. it depends a lot on your hardware and how its configured.

I did a tape trick to lower my huge LOD (g9x logitech) in 2010 to play cod4 normally. It worked like a charm
