Re: CES 2026 Discussion

One disappointment after another. The one thing I wanted to see is "finally VRR flicker-free OLED".

Wake me up when that happens, because absolutely nothing else matters.

Uhh yeah, kinda disappointing! Haven't seen anyone even mention promising solutions. I'm afraid we won't see that any ...

Is it possible to use manually downloaded rife models? Or is that not possible and can only models already in the program be used?
Yep.

You can plop them in the right folder in the directory and they'll pop up in the dropdown list.

Re: Vint: Realtime Video Interpolation and CRT Emulation is now Available. What are your feature requests?

I wonder how Vint with the Rife model would handle interpolation of this video to 120fps. This footage features screens with a large number of point-like LEDs. And LSFG interpolates them poorly. There are a lot of artifacts and little detail on these elements.

I recently had an interview with Bob from RetroRGB about Vint, 24 FPS video, and display temporals.

Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV

I actually have no idea why is there a second pulse. If they managed to pull off variable amplitude (pulse height), then why not let the main pulse do all the compensation? Chief, you here? May you chime in?

Re: Trying to recall what was the monitor released this year with scanline BFI done with FALD

I just learned that Gsync Pulsar is basically the scanning BFI but also with VRR but I don't have any idea about whether it's certification by Nvidia or something else.

Re: NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor - Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV

Think strong pulsar advantage is almost no cross talk in any scenario.

I currently have a ViewSonic XG2431. I'm wondering exactly how clear (as in motion clarity) the image of these new Pulsar monitors are at a low fps (for example 75 Hz) compared to the XG2431. I know the strength of Pulsar ...

Re: Vint: Realtime Video Interpolation and CRT Emulation is now Available. What are your feature requests?

I'm curious how Vint's interpolation would interact with an Nvidia pulsar monitor.

It seems like interpolation/framegen would combine really well with a VRR strobing system on a display.

I still think OLEDs and other emissive displays would be a far better overall experience over the LCDs of the ...

How clear is moving text when enabling interpolation? Does the text in this video, for example, maintain clarity in an individual frame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vigX3H7WX5Q
