Re: Potentially low MPRT on many 4K and 8K Samsung QLED TVs (lots of RTINGS BFI Test image comparisons)
I think I'm probably sold on the display at this point! If they ever released the QN95D in Australia, I probably would have opted for that but alas no.
I take your point re 30fps with 60hz strobing. Personally, I find the double image effect far more distracting than standard sample-and-hold ...

Re: Potentially low MPRT on many 4K and 8K Samsung QLED TVs (lots of RTINGS BFI Test image comparisons)
Do remember that motion clarity is affected by brightness/pulse width on the Samsung and that even at 60hz full brightness it should exceed the LG OLEDs at 120hz Motion Pro High.
If you display 30fps over a 60hz signal you'll get double image artifacts no matter what. Whether it's on the LG or the ...

1)Regarding local dimming, I'm legitimately impressed with mine, set to High.
It has weaknesses, Stars in a night sky may look over-dimmed (I assume turning it to Normal or Low would allow them to be brighter but create blooming and greyish blacks). Also fast strobing pictures in a black background ...

OK so apparently the Quest 3 does use asynchronous reprojection which is good news.
I can't quite wrap my head around (pun intended) how it works, but it does play a big part in making everything look clearer and smoother.

Haven't looked into VR headset yet.
Sounds cool though. But probably not at TV level when it comes to contrast, resolution, HDR, and so forth. I often watch stuff with my girlfriend or buddies so yeah, I will require big TVs regardless.

Re: Best new monitors nowadays?
Depends on a bunch of criteria.
OLED beats LCD pretty much across the board, except if you need the maximum amount of motion clarity at lower refresh rates, in which case the best strobing (ULMB, ELMB,...) LCDs are unmatched.
Also, since burn-in is a potential issue on static content, some people ...

Re: Potentially low MPRT on many 4K and 8K Samsung QLED TVs (lots of RTINGS BFI Test image comparisons)
The new rtings test is very clever, allowing you to eyeball the MPRT very easily.
What’s very exciting about these displays’ particular quirk, where brightness and pulse width are interlinked, is that if we are somehow able to squeeze more peak brightness from the display, we can use that extra ...

Re: Potentially low MPRT on many 4K and 8K Samsung QLED TVs (lots of RTINGS BFI Test image comparisons)
I think the RTINGS test is made at 2000pixel/sec, therefore it is really hard for a display to get it perfect,
it would need to be ~0.5ms MPRT.
My estimation is that the brighter QN90D test is a bit over 2ms MPRT (480hz sample & hold OLED test look slightly clearer), but that darker QN90F test ...

Re: Looking for TV OLED or LED with motion interpolation when set to 120Hz or higher on PC
Hello all,
I was wondering if there is a TV LED or OLED that still offers Motion Interpolation when set or displaying content that’s in 120Hz.
The scenario is that on my LG G5 ( which I use for gaming with my PC only ) I can go into my Nvidia control panel and change the Hz to 60Hz turn off G ...

Edit: I have dropped a comment on the RTINGS review page for the 8K QN900D and QN900F, and the top-tier 4K QN95D asking if the 120hz brightness trick works.
