Re: HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!

Citing another probably overly-cited article, there's more to it than just the 1-frame latency - you have to consider total (sub/)system-level effects: https://jackmin.home.blog/2018/12/14/swapchains-present-and-present-latency/ 1 frame "increments." That article confirms what I stated in my previo...

Re: AOC 24G2 + GTX 1080ti + G-Sync = Black screens and incompatibility?

I thought we finally reached the point where a flat-panel, IPS, 1920x1080, 24-inch, G-Sync supported, 120+hz monitor was something that could exist but.. alas, it appears the tech is still not there yet. The tech is there, you just have to pick a model in the below list (the AOC 24G2 isn't in it) t...

Re: Does having 60FPS using VRR have lower input lag than 60hz? Confused*

I see, and does top and bottom lag matter at all (last question) if the differences is 2-3ms If you're playing at 60Hz, potentially where updates at the very top or bottom of the screen are concerned. But again, if you're playing at 240Hz, or 60 FPS 240Hz VRR, then what you're device is reading at ...

Re: Does having 60FPS using VRR have lower input lag than 60hz? Confused*

the thing is I'm not asking if its strange my results are different than Rtings I know why it's different. I wanted to know if the top and bottom results for input lag matter much or even just a little b/c both monitors have an advantage in one of those aspects The difference you're seeing between ...

Re: Does having 60FPS using VRR have lower input lag than 60hz? Confused*

So I just received the monitor today. Right away I was blown away at how much better the screen quality was compared to the my old monitor the Asus XG248Q; however when doing my own input lag tests using my Time Sleuth lag tester I got these results Before you go any further, you need to confirm wh...

Re: Does having 60FPS using VRR have lower input lag than 60hz? Confused*

Oh, then that's what you meant. Well, good suggestion! Yes. I was initially misattributing its application to the wrong aspect in my description, as I am, after all, a conceptual-thinking enthusiast, not a display engineer. Unfortunately, I have heard from multiple channels they've tried that trick...

Re: Does having 60FPS using VRR have lower input lag than 60hz? Confused*

Now -- one possible out: In theory, interruptible repeat-refreshing could be invented, since repeat-refresh is in theory a no-operation. Good idea, in theory. If only screen technologies were perfect enough... Stop the repeat-refresh on the spot and begin anew at the scanout at the top. You saved m...

Re: Does having 60FPS using VRR have lower input lag than 60hz? Confused*

Then rephrase it to be then clear about context. Wink. (You know me by now, ha!) :D I specifically said "a bit" of a misnomer, not "a misnomer." I found that clear enough with what had preceded it and followed it in this particular thread. This actually would make stutters worse. Consistent scanout...

Re: Does having 60FPS using VRR have lower input lag than 60hz? Confused*

What reason would somebody use 60hz with VRR instead of the full 240hz in the first place? I have no idea (you should use an FPS limit + max refresh rate to control effective refresh "rate" with VRR instead), but in the case of RTINGS tests, it's potentially useful for determining both VRR and non-...
