I've been using scaling fixes for a few months along with cru and deleting monitor drivers. I had only used the custom scale once before but this time it seemed to help, for a while.
Here is the crazy part though, when it ran perfect I lost my internet several times. On the third or forth time my internet cut out, it created a WHOLE NEW ETHERNET CONTROLER labeled #2. I disabled the original and hadn't noticed any difference but it got me to order a new ethernet card. I'm starting to feel like (maybe) something in the network card or connection itself is what is adversely affecting the scaling. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
I did not have this problem when I was playing Overwatch but did experience internet being cut out playing helldivers2 both last night and tonight. And I thought it was my isp. (I lost connection on both labtop and pc when i experienced this the first time. The second time its just helldivers 2 with the connection disconnected icon popping up but labtop didnt not lose connections. I was on twitch both times on labtop hence being able to know immediately.)

But no I have no idea what is going on with this tweak lmao. If anything it could it be the reverse? the dpi scaling somehow overwhelmed and got the ethernet being cut out?

Update: helldivers 2 also had a new patch so servers might be unstable. I put in a few more hours into overwatch and never lost connections. So it could just be coincidence.

Does it also work with stretched 4:3 res?

i play 640x480 streched on 240 hz 27" and when i apply the tweak i dont see diffrence in game only in windows,but it runs one idea smoother,i guess.

Another fun thing I found out is that you can use a secondary desktop and force a random window as far out the edge you can and then switching back to your main desktop without letting it "settle". This fixes all scaling problems with programs I have weirdly enough lol. I have 2 screenshots to sorta explain how.

I applied the adjustments mentioned in the article and it had a positive impact on me. I felt that valorant was smoother. Then I checked the registry changes after the adjustments. I found that in addition to the registry mentioned by others,

and this is in my registry:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]

"Win8DpiScaling"=dword:00000001
"LogPixels"=dword:00000073
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]
"UseDpiScaling"=dword:00000000

"UseDpiScaling" was also added to my registry. It didn't exist before. Is the best choice 1 or 0 or delete it? Has anyone tested it? I am also testing it

I just check and see i also have the same tell me when you do the test 0 or 1,also when i change to 120% scaling only log pixels was added and Win8DpiScaling from 0 to 1.

I looked around in google search and apparently had to do with dpi virtualization. I just discovered that mine is set to 1. This is from eclipse community and it says:

"In DWM in Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, there is an option to Use Windows XP style DPI scaling, which sets HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\UseDpiScaling to 0 and ensures all Win32 apps get native resolution just like in all earlier Win32 versions. When UseDpiScaling is set to 1, DWM applies DPI virtualization above 120dpi in apps that lack dpi aware declaration, resulting in an upscaling from 96dpi, which defeats the purpose of very small pixels. This becomes particularly problematic in Windows 8.1 which not only forces DWM, but also UseDpiScaling registry no longer works, and DPI virtualization for more than 120dpi is seemingly always enforced. Even Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.5 have fully functional DPI scaling with native resolution at all pixel densities, so Win32 had over 25 years of dpi-aware history, so there is no excuse for DPI virtualization."

I have set usedpiscaling to 0 and win8scaling to 0 and it reverted my 120 scaling back to 100 resolution but I am unsure if UseDpiscaling and Win8scaling are the main tweaks here instead of forcing 120%. Ideally you would want both value to be 0?(I am pretty sure nonetheless everyone should check UseDpiScaling setting and change it to 0)

Win8DpiScaling set to 1 makes my aiming better, I don't feel the delay increase, it makes my mouse faster. (Maybe this needs more testing, but I feel it's better when Win8DpiScaling is 1)
But I saw someone say Win8DpiScaling 1 slows down his mouse speed, or increases the delay, I'm curious why this setting varies from person to person, it may be related to other settings. I hope someone can study it more deeply,
Please let me know if you have any new findings, I can help test, thank you

everyone is this topic says oposite,when you make 120% scaling Win8DpiScaling becomes from 0 to 1,and logpixels is added.about "UseDpiScaling" i still dont know what is best 0 or 1,can someone make test about these 3 dwords?
