Timer resolution becomes 0.5 instead of 0.526 when playing games.

Post by dermodemon » 18 Nov 2024, 03:05

I set my timer resolution to 0.526 for the best delta values.
I use SetTimerResolution.exe to set it and MeasureSleep.exe for the monitoring.
When i am not playing game it is always sits at my 0.526 value. But when i start games it automaticaly sets my timer resolution to 0.5 and my delta values is getting messed up.
What is wrong?
I use windows 11. GlobalTimerResolutionRequests=dword:00000001
P.S. weird enough that only unreal engien games are doing this to me. Cs2 for example doesn't change timer resolution value at all

How can i fix this? And anybody else having this problem?

I'd personally say, do not play with timerresolution. It's not worth the time and it 99% makes no difference anyway.

My mousetester results say otherwise. It's clean and flat line when i use this value. But when timer is set to default my mousetester graph looks random and chaotic

If you find it to be working, just go along with it.
Personally through the years I tested a million things to make my mousetester look better and it made 0 difference it the end.(best thing was playing with the affinity tool)
I didn't notice anything change with bad or good mousetester, could be just me ofcourse. Just sharing an opinion.

bcdedit /set useplatformclock false
bcdedit /set useplatformtick no
