Cs2 weird frame pacing ?
Cs2 weird frame pacing ?
So I've been playing cs2 for a while now and it's been feeling a bit weird.
Sometimes it feels smooth but enemies will be hard to hit and will be dying extremely fast.
When it feels laggier to the point you think you are on -400fps, the game is easy to play and shots hit way easier. It technically feels like game is slowed down.
Is it just how this game is or is it bad frame pacing ? Any idea how to fix ?

Re: Cs2 weird frame pacing ?
I think there is a memory leak in the panorama ui which cause severe spikes.
Also the engine decides the lagcompensation on your side in a black box + low tick servers.
The game is trash in the state it is now, I've unistalled until it's all fixed

Hm it feels like it honestly, Valorant feels fine so that speaks for itself.unconnected wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025, 16:35I think there is a memory leak in the panorama ui which cause severe spikes.

In cs2 I can't get 2 games in a row where the game feels the same.
Valorant had some issues with CPU wait GPU time spikes which resulted in stutters/freezes randomly and for no reason at all but that (I think) is in the past now.
Also UE5 is coming out now so I'll prolly go back to it since cs2 is bad.
Re: Cs2 weird frame pacing ?
Setting fps_max 0 and capping fps at driver level will drastically improve framepacing. Very noticeable during DM and you can verify with capframex using a benchmark as well.
Funny enough, if you are using the in-game limiter or running uncapped, the framepacing actually improves when you are at full gpu load, but this has the downside of experiencing input lag. This behavior probably explains what you felt in those different scenarios.

Actually managed to fix it by a lot by lowering my isr.cuaderno wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025, 07:46Setting fps_max 0 and capping fps at driver level will drastically improve framepacing. Very noticeable during DM and you can verify with capframex using a benchmark as well.

I had like 2k interrupts per second with only discord open and dropped it to like 50-100 per sec.
There are still occasional stutters which seem to be connected to 1% lows, shouldn't happen but will most likely find a solution to that aswell soon.

How did you manage to lower them so much?Fpsgamer wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025, 03:28Actually managed to fix it by a lot by lowering my isr.cuaderno wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025, 07:46Setting fps_max 0 and capping fps at driver level will drastically improve framepacing. I changed all my usbs to the cpu ports instead of chipset. Headset and mic were causing issuesunconnected wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 13:05How did you manage to lower them so much?Fpsgamer wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025, 03:28Actually managed to fix it by a lot by lowering my isr.cuaderno wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025, 07:46Setting fps_max 0 and capping fps at driver level will drastically improve framepacing. Would you please post a report from latencymon of before and after the change? Might be a confirming factor for others to try and investigate furtherFpsgamer wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 15:12I changed all my usbs to the cpu ports instead of chipset. Re: Cs2 weird frame pacing ?
I don't have a before picture but this is "idle" test and this is with discord/chrome/steam/twitch open, it's usually even lower but I launched them with latencymon open and they spike some latency on launch Don't really like w10 anymore so I might go back to w11 and try to see if all these fixes remain there too.unconnected wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 17:54Would you please post a report from latencymon of before and after the change? Re: Cs2 weird frame pacing ?
Went back to win11, fixes do transfer over.
Also game stopped lagging ever since I went back to w11, I guess 7800x3d is more optimized on it.
7800x3d seems to be sensitive to memory speeds, 5200mhz seem to be working a lot better than 6000 on it even tho 6000 worked perfectly fine on my 7600x.
