built a completely new pc - lower input lag but higher desync

Post by babooz99 » 13 Nov 2025, 23:28

Someone had claimed their issues was fixed by building a new pc from scratching - everything new and not mixing parts so I Built a completely new pc, didnt use any old parts. 9800x3d + 5070. Mouse is less floaty, less input lag, very snappy, game looks more way smoother even at the same fps as my other pc 7800x3d.

However desync is crazy. Everyone is ferrari peeking me, everyone looks like gods both in csgo and valorant. I played some DM and everyone looked like fkn pros the way they killed me. Switching back to my old pc enemies take much longer to react but aim is so floaty. this is chalked

Old pc
7800x3d
3060ti
gigabyte b650m ds3h

newpc
9800x3d
5070
GIGABYTE B850 GAMING X WIFI6E
Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s DDR5 CL36

Hey there, happened to me when I upgraded from a i9-9900K + 4070ti to 7800X3D with new MOBO - MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI and I somewhat managed to fix my desync/ferrari peek issue by flashing my BIOS to the latest one while leaving C-States in BIOS on Auto.

Before flashing my BIOS I had to set C-States to "Off" for my game to feel a tad bit decent. Maybe you could give that a shot?

What motherboard and onboard NIC are you using? Could you share more about your RAM too?

Fixing Desync Ferrari Issue by flashing Bios...

You are still believe in this Placebo fixes ? Which dont gonna last for long and until you realize it one day and figure out that it is dont what really helps and makes the real change...in your Online Gaming experience ?

It is same Story like with Windows reinstall and where things suddenly are become like "better" different for a short moment and like fixed for some Matches but thats just a big lie and until you start Rank up higher and higher and try climb the ELO...then all your Desync Ferrari Issues will come back and even worse things gonna start to happen...100% believe me.

Stop mess up with your Hardwares cause everything alright with that and if you turned all power savings OFF and everything that has some negative effect impact on performance and fps...you are very fine...

And it is 100% not your Hardware that cause Desync, Ferrari and things like bad Hitreg or just this overall feelings where Enemy are like Godlike...

It is wrong path that you go and new Bioses or Motherboards will for sure dont make it better lol...

I did flash my bios but for another reason, my fps was really low on the default bios and it got fixed with that. I will try messing with the c states

Desync has NOTHING do do with your PC hardware. It has to do with ISP, game servers, routing.

Haha take a step back buddy, I'm just sharing what worked for me and is still working. I've seen your posts and can only say that you need to see a therapist ASAP instead of trying to find the "magic fix" on this forum. Good day.

You cant generally say the kind of thing the desync is connected to if you dont know the source.
It may be tied to hardware as well as tied to networking/ISP/any external source.

If its network sided, you will be put behind because packets come in wrong order, missed, asymetric, delayed, corrected too late, jittered whatever...

If its local hardware or system settings,it may be too big buffer at network card (an example) being flushed with too long interval (any ways), hidden bottleneck caused by malfunctional bios sending data back and forth clogging some random bus, whatever.
Sadly there is no universal hack how to force the fps game to respect the maximum allowed speed of opponent movement and not render them faster even for a price of the desync being practically never fully catched (so it lags behind in your favour not unfavour). E. G. high ping peekers should be banished this way because games always skip their initial acceleration which makes them hard to hit and should be put behind instead (like old games with fair netcode with no lagcomp did - the lag was always on their side, not being thrown on opponent). I bet most players which are too fast are the high pingers as they skip acceleration - due to lagcompensation your pc client cant predict it correctly /it gets data late on purpose and whenever the movement updates opposite way than the movement vector it actually predicts and renders, it simply ferrari skips instead of letting them being rendered behind without speeding up over allowed acceleration and movement speed limits to catch the gap/.

This principle is similar for any other sources of desync - there always comes a time gap into existence and client nullifies the gap by speeding up everything like you run fast forward e. g. online stream if it lags behind real time to get rid off the gap between you and other viewers commenting things you didnt see yet due the delay.

Half of the netcode and having upper hand in duels is just about buffering the natural gaps which come to existence by physical limitations of online environment. Everybody wants to be the one desynced at others expense. But most the ways how to tune up, trick and rig game console commands to not allow the gap to come to existence or even better, to be always favourable for you / or slowing opponents visually (because lagcompensation allows you to go even 200ms behind server time and still getting lagcompensated by server in your favour, its how lagswitch works but legit way - cs2 as a bad example how it should NOT look, 200ms lagcomp limit is bullshit), are usually after some time getting locked behind sv_cheats 1 or become server sided only...
