Measuring Samsung TV MPRT using Test UFO

Post by roginthemachine » 06 Mar 2026, 07:07

Hi all,

I'd like to measure the MPRT of my Samsung QN90D using test UFO, at 120fps.

I am able to browse the internet to access TestUFO through my PS5, and through my TVs built in browser. When using either browser, TestUFO seems to be capped to 60fps refresh (even though the PS5 is definitely outputting 120hz when I check in Game Bar)

Any tips or suggestions as to how I might get a sense of the MPRT value at 120fps on this TV?

Thanks!

Sadly, that's almost always a limitation of the Playstation browser and the SmartTV browser. Try connecting an external computer instead to get 120fps TestUFO instead.

XBox uses Edge, and it runs 120fps. I wish Sony didn't cap Webkit at 60fps, it's kind of like Apple's "Prefer Page Rendering Updates Near 60fps" problem. And TV browsers typically don't run 60fps.

Solution: Connect a PC/laptop to your TV, switch it to 120Hz, and run from there. If using laptop, make sure you've Windows to use the maximum performance GPU with the browser, and temporarily use Performance Mode, to get the browser running at full speed.
