I haven't purchased a Pulsar monitor, but the new 60hz update is making me consider replacing my XG2431. Zero crosstalk and adjustable pulse width seem to make these monitors a worthy successor for console gaming. Glad to see positive responses.

The brightness isn’t too much of a difference currently at 100 pulse width, I measured 524 nits (I think the Acer version is the brightest Pulsar display) so don’t see why they couldn’t bring it down to 60 from 75.
It was mentioned Nvidia were finding it tricky, plus Chief has been quiet so maybe he’s still testing a newer firmware, can you say anything yet Chief?

Is this true for pulsar on this monitor XG27AQNGV?
Grok: Pulsar: Do NOT turn V-Sync ON in NVIDIA Control Panel. Keep it Off. Best combo is G-Sync ON + Reflex + Boost (Pulsar activates automatically).
I read that V-Sync must be on for G-Sync to work correctly.

Nvidia Low Latency mode "on" but not "ultra"
Framecap somewhere below your monitor refresh rate via RTSS (e.g. 340 Hz)
System latency with this setting is almost identical to Reflex.
If you are just interested in visuals, you can use Vsync (via nvcp, not ingame) instead of RTSS. This will then increase your latency from 8 ms to 15ms (values all compared on spawn point, no action).
All frame cap variants outside RTSS (inside CS or via nvcp) did not work for me at all. It never felt and look like pulsar.
We have discussed these things here some weeks ago and it seems this applies also to other games. Reflex kills your 1% lows which leads to mini stutters. This disrupts your pulsar clarity. Its a night and day difference.

Assuming you mean 'Reflex off' rather than 'Pulsar off' right? Otherwise what's the point in having a Pulsar monitor in the first place...!

It can never be "almost identical" because you're using an external frame rate limiter — RTSS Async, RTSS Front-edge or RTSS Back-edge.
All of which affect the total system latency either by 1 or 2 frames of latency (if 340Hz aka ~2,9412 ms if 1 frames or ~5,88235 ms if 2 frames)
Note that computers work in nanoseconds & microseconds.
Miliseconds can be felt by the end-user.

You can easily evalute this by using Special-K or RTSS' reflex.ovl
The Pulsar (VRR+Strobing) portion does, namely the display processing latency segment.
The situation changes in games where Reflex isn't available, which is the vast majority of games on the market, where one has to rely on either a frame rate limiter (internal, preferably) or LLM=On/Ultra to achieve a empty render-ahead queue (or a more non-ambiguous way to name it, CPU submission queue / frame dispatch queue)
“1% lows” (depending on the tool you use to evaluate this behavior) are a irrelevant metric to evaluate what you perceive in real-time.
Reflex enabled is the "true latency" of your workload, all there is to it.

So TFT Central reviewed the Asus Pulsar at a 454nits peak brightness in Pulsar mode.
That's quite a big difference compared to the Acer that goes to 550nits using Pulsar, wonder why there's differences when they are all using the same panels and backlights?
AOC reviewed at 450 nits

I did not say that. With reflex on, you surely get the lowest system latency.
I am talking about Reflex off. And there are two options to keep the pulsar clarity as reflex is not there anymore to cap your frames:
- Framecap with RTSS
- enable vsync
With vsync on, system latency - only measured with nvidia frameview - is double compared of vsync off and framecap with RTSS.
That is all I can measure or visualize, tbh i dont feel the difference anyway between 8ms (reflex), 9ms (rtss cap) or even vsync (15ms). I was about to stop when I had the visual clarity with vsync on until someone mentioned rtss. And this turned out to be the best solution for now.
However I hope they will fix the situation so we can simply run the games as advertised, with vsync+gsync+reflex on and have the clarity at all times which is why we all bought this monitor.
