Re: cs2 input delay
This is such a sad issue, it just started raining and my input lag improved and my TV picture quality became less blurry, obviously it'll go back to being bad within hours. Definitely not going to try things like expensive ups, just hope that a different house solves it

Re: cs2 input delay
Can you explain it like you would explain to a kid ? i think i got the same problem but got trouble understanding as my native language is not english. And what is your setup currently to make it works ? perhaps with picture if you can. Thanks <3lyar wrote: ↑11 Mar 2026, 19:40im not using the double conversion right now as its sine wave is inferior to what my grid creates (atleast when my PC can only achieve 20% load on the ups) but i only had this ethernet ground loop because my computer was referencing ground from the Isolation Transformer and from the house via the ethernet cable. so you have to try both ethernet isolation and transformer isolation together for any potential result. thats why ethernet unplugged on the transformer felt good, and ethernet plugged in didnt, atleast for mecursedgamer12 wrote: ↑11 Mar 2026, 06:50thinking about doing the ethernet fix you mentioned above. would this be a big improvement without the transformer and double conversion? thanks

Can you say for certain that ethernet without a transformer was perfectly ok? Maybe the noise was imbalanced (say 80% from dirty wall power, 20% from ethernet ground loop/noise) that the 20% became noticeable only when you fixed the biggest sourcelyar wrote: ↑14 Mar 2026, 23:55did you read the part where i wrote that i am also using a transformer? when my PC is connected directly to the wall, unplugging the ethernet does NOTHING. using a transformer while the ethernet is not isolated gives me issues. ethernet on its own was not the problem, it was in conjunction with the transformmer and ethernet causing a ground loop

Re: cs2 input delay
idk for sure in percentages, idk what you mean by "ethernet without a transformer" anything that the wall directly delivers is bad. ethernet was only bad when i was/am using the isolation transformer, because the ethernet cable gave my computer another way to reference house ground from the router plugged into a grounded outlet, hence the loop. When using the Tripp Lite isolation transformer, i fixed the problem of the ethernet cable referencing my house ground which interferes with what the isolation transformer does & helps, by turning the ethernet cable into fiber then back into ethernet, because fiber does not carry electricity. afterwards my game felt better when there isnt anything drawing alot of power in my home. surely i dont have to post the same explanation a million times overfelhuy wrote: ↑22 Mar 2026, 17:50Can you say for certain that ethernet without a transformer was perfectly ok? Re: cs2 input delay
doesn't matter. i got to borrow an oscilloscope and my THD% theory was wrong. differential mode noise probably isnt the culprit. my house produces 2-5% THD on any given day and my UPS produced 0.9% THD and its playability was worse. this problem for me is likely ground related and that my house wiring is fuckedakylen wrote: ↑21 Mar 2026, 19:54Can you explain it like you would explain to a kid ? i think i got the same problem but got trouble understanding as my native language is not english. I wanna fix my issue one by one. I got my desync ( Ferrari peeks/no time to react to enemies) feeling a lot better by using a specific driver and windows level tweaks + openwrt. Like I said it’s a LOT better than vanilla windows but still not nearly as good as it used to be for me or anywhere near a pro players setup. I wanna know if fixing the ground loop with fiber optic converters will make a significant difference cause honestly I’m tired of buying things and investing time in bullshit tweaks. I never tried UPS or inverter or transformer or anything of that nature. Would help me a lot to know if that would help the desync in a big manner. Ty for your posts @Iyar

Re: cs2 input delay
I asked because I have improved my monitor smoothness by converting to fiber alone. I diagnosed this by testing with and without the ethernet cable, excluding any software/mobo overhead problems by also disabling LAN at the bios. I observed a very reproducible difference which was stabilized with the fiber and now I am smooth(er). I am now thinking of investing in a isolation transformer to finish the puzzle.lyar wrote: ↑23 Mar 2026, 02:09idk for sure in percentages, idk what you mean by "ethernet without a transformer" anything that the wall directly delivers is bad. ethernet was only bad when i was/am using the isolation transformer, because the ethernet cable gave my computer another way to reference house ground from the router plugged into a grounded outlet, hence the loop. A big combination of software level tweaks in windows and using double nat with an openwrt router. only reason i use double nat though is because my isp doesnt allow hooking up any router without their knowledge so what i did was connect the 2 using ethernet and then use ethernet from the openwrt router to my pc. it helped me reduce bufferbloat significantly. sadly i cant change the isp routing or none of that. the biggest difference was the windows level tweaks with the correct ethernet driver.

Could you please explain in more detail what exactly you did in Windows?sadboytunaswag31 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2026, 16:21A big combination of software level tweaks in windows and using double nat with an openwrt router. only reason i use double nat though is because my isp doesnt allow hooking up any router without their knowledge so what i did was connect the 2 using ethernet and then use ethernet from the openwrt router to my pc. it helped me reduce bufferbloat significantly. sadly i cant change the isp routing or none of that. the biggest difference was the windows level tweaks with the correct ethernet driver.
